Top 4 hitters go 1/16 with 4BB and 8K. Completely unacceptable.

They do this every game now. And we hear the well theyre tired excuse everyday now too

Multiple pitches down the middle to Seiya and PCA and they do nothing. Just a truly pathetic and embarrassing loss today with everything that surrounded this game.

Right they and Tucker couldn't do anything productive if you told them what and where you're going to a pitch.  As I said, Seiya and Tucker they've been in a slump for a month+ with no end in site.

Insane.  I never thought he’d challenge PCA in the zone.  He did and PCA just didn’t get it done.  It was there for him.

Something needs to happen to get this team rolling again, 500 ball last 14 games isnt going to cut it.

Not like they can go get anyone to get them a spark, it up to the regulars on the roster now.

B-b-b-but Cubs are elite against lefties!!1!1

They're good against lefties.  But when your 3 of your 4 best lefties are bunched together at the top of the lineup, and the one righty in the mix is in a horrific slump, seems like it leaves you exposed to situations like this.

If I said the cubs had elite pitching because they’ve given up 4 total runs in the last two games would you think that was a smart opinion

If Tucker wants 450 /. 500 million he needs to start hitting again

Boog said on the broadcast that his finger still isn't right.  It was the first I had heard that as possible justification for his slump.

Yeah, no argument from me. What I'm realizing though is JUST how mediocre we really are guys. It's not just the starting pitching, its the offense and the geriatric rejects we trot out from the bullpen. Brasier and Thielbar? I mean.....we just traded for Rogers who has a solid pedigree and good ole' loyal skipper Craig sticks with those two old glue horses. The NL after the deadline is just LOADED if you are honest about it:

Brewers/Phils/Mets/Padres/Dodgers are all looking down on us at this point. Not so much from a wins/losses standpoint but talent and realistic shot at winning the NL pennant. We aren't even top 5 at this point and our play backs that up

19-18 their last 37.  But like I've said before, everyone has mediocre or downright bad stretches every year.  Everything is magnified because the Brewers are playing 119 win ball for 40% of a full season.

If at least, two of Busch, Tucker and Suzuki don't snap out if it soon.  The Cubs will not win the division and make the wild card a hell of lot closer.

Milwaukee is going to have a chance to bury us in that 5 gamer

No doubt.  I hope not but it could get very ugly that series.

I would say it's time to go with Nico in the leadoff spot every day.  He consistently gives the best at bats of anyone in the lineup.  Put Busch cleanup and PCA 6th to spread the lefties out.

We just have to accept that the Brewers are probably the greatest team in baseball history and we're playing for home field in the Wild Card round.

Not only that but we would need the Brewers to stop destroying everything, or else we could play well and still not win it.

Whats their wOBA down to vs lefties after today? Or is that still top 10 but it’s the wRC+ that’s dipped into the teens while OPS+ is somewhere between 17-20?

What's frustrating is to be so pathetic against even a bad pitcher such Sugano, nothing special about his stuff.  Nothing overpowering and the top of the order was just helpless save for a few walks.

Then he needs to go to the IL . Cubs need the absolute best version of Kyle Tucker . The current one sucks

This..  just stick with Hoerner at leadoff and break up the lefties a bit vs lefties and righties starters.

Hoerner

Tucker

Suzuki

PCA

Kelly

Happ

Busch

Swanson

Shaw

Castro can be used anytime
