Because the top of the Orioles lineup is super lefty heavy. Henderson has a 67 wRC+ against lefties and Thielbar crushes lefties this year to the tune of a .147 wOBA.

It's bad luck but it wasn't a bad call. In fact, it was easily the right call. It was just the wrong outcome, which can happen even when you make the right call.

Braiser’s a right hander who started the inning though.

Man, that pitch wasn’t bad luck.  I can still smell the reek in my living room.

Absolute pathetic display if offense. This team is going no where. The entire top of the order has no idea how to hit anymore

Ahh! Well
Braiser vs LHP - 29.6% K%, 3.7 BB%, 2.68 xFIP

He's crushed lefties too.

TIL Caleb Thielbar is 38 years old!  I thought he was like 29.

Can't make it up....most of our bullpen is made up of old journeymen: Keller/Thielbar/Pomeranz/Flexen...now gone but still. It's a minor miracle they pitched as well as they did most of the year. Just kind laughable really. Rogers just looked better than Thielbar or Pomeranz already so maybe he'll get more high leverage calls in the future. Meantime the Brewers are cruising to another easy win over an overmatched opponent.

Gotta love the Orioles being able to bring in a lefty to face Busch, Tucker, slumping Seiya and PCA.  Even switching to Kelly is a net loss for the Cubs.

Really think even if he's getting less ABs, consider breaking up the top of the order.

Well, bad luck on Counsell's end. Yeah it was a rough pitch.

It was lefty righty right at the bottom of the order to start the inning.

Brasier has a 2.14 ERA and a 3.33 xFIP in the year. He didn't pick Ethan Roberts, he picked a RHP who has been very good between two RHP who has been very good.
