By the way, enjoy this, I think the play that finally ended Shane Waldron's career with the Bears (16:21 if it doesn't load there):

The sprint out to the left with 3 routes going to the right. I remember seeing this when it happened and thinking "oh no, there's no way thats how the actual play is supposed to go". I have no idea what was intended to happen here, but it was definitely the most embarrassing thing I've seen from them since last year.

This has to be Caleb mixing things up. I refuse to believe an oc in the NFL could be that incompetent.

Eberflus has reached Marc Trestman level of cluelessness. Nobody wants to reach Dr. Death level of self awareness.

We managed to get the post-Lovie veteran toxic locker room without ever getting the Lovie smith era of competence.

You think Caleb went wrong way or called it wrong? The entire line ran it as a play meant to go into short side with one receiver option. I’m inclined to believe that was the play call.

Nagy’s bears were competent. They were over .500 at least. They don’t bottom out until Poles and Eberflus tanked them on purpose.

Nagy definitely got a bit of a raw deal.   The fanbase was convinced that he was the only problem.

At least he was coach of the year. Also made the playoffs twice.

this is how bad it's gotten.  We have a Packers fan trying to talk us off the ledge and trying to convince us that the Bears have a chance even though we know they don't

The Cubs have made me bearish on all of my other sports fan interests.

The #Packers have thrown a lot of interceptions, dropped a lot of passes and committed a lot of holding and pre-snap penalties. Imagine how good this offense could be if it could get out of its own way.

I'm kinda hoping this turns into a Julius Caesar-style mutiny this week. The team could dump Eberflus' body in Lake Michigan, let Tyson Bagent be the head coach, and no one would say anything, ala Ken McElroy

So, the movie "Varsity Blues" comes to real life?

Reasons for Bears Fans to Have at Least Some Optimism This Sunday

-Will the real Jordan Love please stand up:

  • Games 1-9, 2023: 58.7 percent, 14 touchdowns vs. 10 interceptions, 6.7 yards per attempt – 80.5 passer rating (27th out of 34 quarterbacks with 100 attempts).
  • Games 10-17, 2023: 70.3 percent, 18 touchdowns vs. one interception, 7.7 yards per attempt – 112.7 passer rating (2nd out of 33 quarterbacks with 100 attempts).
  • Games 1-9, 2024: 61.3 percent, 15 touchdowns vs. 10 interceptions, 7.6 yards per attempt – 88.2 passer rating (22nd out of 36 quarterbacks with 100 attempts).

-Defensive tackle Kenny Clark, the 12th highest paid player at his position, has zero sacks.

-Cornerback Jaire Alexander, a two-time second-team All-Pro, can't seem to stay on the field.

-Defensive end Rashan Gary, the eighth highest paid edge defender, has 2.5 sacks but only a half-sack in which he actually beat his blocker.

-Defensive end Lukas Van Ness has one sack. Of 85 edge defenders with at least 125 pass-rushing snaps, he ranks 84th in PFF’s pass-rush productivity, which measures sacks, hits and hurries per pass-rushing snap, and 74th in pass-rush win rate.

On offense, the Packers are 19th on third down and 30th in the red zone.

On defense, they are an excellent sixth on third down but 20th in the red zone.

Of the 14 teams that would be in the playoffs if the season were to end today, only the Packers are 20th or worse in both red-zone categories.

Snippets pulled from Link .

I know the Bears have all sorts of problems, but the Packers seem to have taken a step back from the latter part of last season in many areas. Love's injury, a new defensive coordinator/system, sh!tty Kickers, and way too many drops seem to be the root cause.

Prepare to have your defensive stats propped up by playing the Bears offense, who are currently starting 5 guys on the OLine that arguably wouldn't be starters on any other NFL team, assuming Jenkins is now out and no one out last week comes back this week. Projected starters in week #1 were Braxton Jones, Teven Jenkins, Coleman Shelton, Nate Davis, Darnell Wright. Last week's line up at one point (Jenkins injured AGAIN) featured 3rd string LT Larry Borom, 3rd string Center and short yardage extraordinaire RB Doug Kramer at LG, Coleman Shelton, 2nd string Center Ryan Bates at RG and 2nd string RG Matt Pryor at RT. While Coleman Shelton is the current starting Center, he did not have that title on the team he came from.

And while we are on the subject of linemen, Connor Williams has played every game for Seattle and signed a 2 year 14m contract, 8.5m guaranteed.

I was under the impression he was going to miss about half a season recovering from an injury. I believe he was the best Center in free agency this past offseason.

Reports that Poles made Eberflus not just demote but fire Waldron and that some players are saying that Caleb isn’t putting in the work are troubling

I don't really like to go off the deep-end on my perception of their chemistry but I have had the feeling this is the case with Caleb. You just don't see a bond there and his accuracy has been awful from the get go on longer passes. He needs to wake up because his natural talent isn't carrying him far.

Where are the reports about Caleb not putting the work in?  I hadn't seen that yet

His accuracy hasn’t been there on short passes either

imagine being so unwanted that your team is desperate for healthy offensively linemen and still release you.

Who knows, with this inept coaching staff maybe they are leaking this to the media(true or not)

Seems to me Eberflus is the type of guy to save his own ass at any cost

Mully and Haugh were mentioning the report this morning, but I didn’t hear who they were referencing

I can’t see that happening, but maybe veteran offensive players

Nate Davis sleeps with the fishes.

i need to keep making demands, since they’re seemingly listening to me this week.

Ask for Allen - Cpt Slow - to join Davis.
