Can anyone dig up some more info on that stat they posted from twitter about the Cubs hitting .228 against high velocity pitchers, which is the bottom 3rd of the league. I am venturing to guess that our SLG and likely OBP is in the top 3rd of the league against those types of pitchers.

I don't know but I saw that too... Our overall batting average was 29th in the league. We're a living breathing embodiment of a three true outcome team and I [expletive] love it.

weather forecast for NY looks like high 40s on Sat and Sunday. High of 52 and low of 37 on Sunday, for example. Stupid question, but could the cold weather affect our dongs?

The planes landing or taking off from LaGuardia are probably safe, but that's about as far as I would go.

Not to mention Soler is trash in cold weather when he wears the ski mask or whatever.

If he doesn't start who starts game 2? Matz?

It has to be Matz. DeGrom threw even more yesterday and Harvey is starting Game 1. Colon is also an option I guess but no reason not to use Matz if you preferred him in the NLDS.

That would be right up there among the dumbest possible reasons to lose Syndergaard for a game. God bless you, Terry Collins.

That does, however, line him up for a game 7 start. Fortunately, we should have dispatched them by then.

If everyone was rested, the Mets would probably throw DeGrom, Syndergaard, and Harvey twice, and Matz once in a 7 game series. If Syndergaard can't go Game 2, that means either he or DeGrom are only going to get to start one game unless it's on 3 days rest.

Any East Coast fans going to this one? My wife surprised me with a ticket to tomorrow night's game! I have a long road ahead of me, but I'll be there!

Lucky! I live way down in SE Virginia, so I have to be back at work on Monday... otherwise, I'd try to stay for both.

lol at those Mets fans. God forbid we feel confident about our team that had more wins than them, a higher Pythagorean winning % than them, a better record by BaseRuns, more batting WAR and more pitching WAR, oh and a 7-0 record against them. Oh, that's right, you're not the same team since the trade deadline. It's too bad that we also had a better record than you since then. Oh and we also just knocked off the only two teams that had a better record than us in the regular season -- two teams that we played 19 times in the regular season, and still came away with a much better record than a team that played 35% of their games against the Braves, Phillies, and Marlins. And we have been sitting back and waiting for you guys to eek out your Division Series victory after we donged a 100-win team into oblivion. I also like how someone posted some pitching stats like xFIP and it was explained away because some other their guys not pitching as many innings, which, OK, I'll give you that. But, the other reason they gave was because Arrieta skewed our numbers by being god-like. Hmm, it's almost as if you are going to have to face that god-like pitcher at least twice this series.

Anyway, sure, I feel confident. As I am sure they do too. We both should be confident and expect no less of the other side. We both have good teams. And the playoffs are a crapshoot; anything can happen. But, lol at their reaction of: "Oh my god, the audicity of them to feel confident about their 97-win team full of dongsmiths."

I also like the: "Look at these four guys we didn't have in the lineup when their pitchers shuts us down 7 times. We are sure to rake against them now!" It's almost like I could say: After how bad we fucked up deGrom twice already, I don't even want to see him have to face Schwarber now, too.

You lurking Mets fans understand how pointless this all is?

...I read something over there where they mentioned a Confroto. NEVER heard that word before. Is that a new fungo bat manufacturer?

A little scary that game 7 for us would come down to Hendricks vs Snydergaard.

Anyone else believe this series isn't going anything less than 6?

If the Cubs win tomorrow I think there's a decent chance they win in 4-5. They'll have a big pitching advantage in Game 2 and then would only need to win 2 of 3 at home.
