lmao, this Mets fan on that board is going to be in Chicago next week and bought tickets to Sheffield Ave Skybox rooftop for $200 so he could go to the game....

From their website:

What's the view of the field like?

Skybox on Sheffield is all about the experience of the Wrigleyville atmosphere and the celebration of Chicago. We don't have a view of the infield but our offerings are well beyond just the game (which is shown on the many TVs throughout the facility). We pride ourselves not only on fully embracing the energy of the area and fans but also in our elevated food, drinks and service.

oh that's delicious

geez, if you're gonna do that to syndergaard, why not use him for two actual game innings? weird.

So they could use Familia for 6 outs and get him an at bat with runners on for good measure.

Very interesting and exciting team you have there. Wonderful job acquiring all that talent kudos to the Cubs front office.

It's only fitting the National League Championship comes down to the team with the best young position talent vs. team with best young pitching talent. Hope its the first of many meetings in the playoffs and a new rivalry.

Good luck to you if you get past us.

Thanks for being civil.

You've got a very good team. It should be an exciting series.

Hey, even if he heel turns, he gave it more than 15 minutes.

All I ask is for entertaining or interesting trolling.

Maybe i'm reading too much into it, but after watching all of Terry Collins' interviews he really sounds like he was prepping the media for no Syndergaard in game 2. Nothing definitive obviously and it will depend on how he feels, but he was really insistent on mentioning Syndergaard felt pretty sore for a few days after his last start and that he threw the equivalent of a full games worth of pitches in the pen. Said if he's sore at all then he wouldn't pitch in game 2.

Could be pretty huge for us given his home/road splits. I'd rather face all the superstuds at home where the crowd could really throw them off their gam.

Yeah, momentum seems to be moving towards Matz for Game 2. HUGE for us obviously, that would mean Syndergaard only gets one start. Plus, it would be on the road where he's struggled far more often.

Yeah, Matz certainly has the potential to be dominating, but if we can eek one out tonight and head into tomorrow up 1-0 with Arrieta vs. Matz, I'll be a pretty happy dude.

That said, I wonder if they start Matz if they win tonight and Syndergaard if they lose.

Stuff that probably only interests me:

After tonight the Cubs will have played playoff games against 9 of the other 14 NL teams, which is fairly impressive considering they've only had 10 playoff rounds (including Pittsburgh this year) since NL teams could play each other in 1969.

Teams they haven't played:

Philadelphia

Washington

Cincinnati

Milwaukee

Colorado

They've been 1 round away from playing Colorado (07), Philadelphia (08) and Milwaukee (08)

And they played the Braves twice

You mean 2 of the first 6 games could be Arrieta/Matz?

You win those, win 1 of the 2 Lester starts (or both!) and 1 of the Hendricks/Hammel starts and we are in the World Series

Posted (edited)

Bill Ripken says the Mets are his WS favorite because their young pitching will beat our young hitting and they "got past Kershaw and Greinke", ignoring the fact that each pitcher beat them once in the series, and Grienke only lost game 5 because of the Dodgers inept offense.

What a joke.

Go Cubs.

Yup, and I think it was posted earlier but assuming they go Matz game 2 it means 1 of Thor/deGrom can only pitch 1 game on regular or extended rest and would be on short rest in any other starts/bullpen appearances.
