Dont think they've announced it, but I haven't heard anyone mention anyone other than Syndergaard.

He apparently has some fairly big home/road splits so they probably want to do game 2 if they can.

I'm going to kind of feel bad for other fan bases when they no longer have 1908... I'm sure something equally hurtful will come to their minds though.

Was it ever officially announced that there would only be one afternoon game? I have a flight consideration for a possible game 5 and am trying to decide if I can get in at 5pm or not.

There are duel games on Tuesday and Wednesday, but game 5 is Thursday and that is the only scheduled game so there is no way in hell it starts earlier than primetime.

any message board that lets posters throw around homophobic slurs is a cesspool anyway, who cares what they think?

Dear Mets Fans:

You are correct that we shouldn't be confident because of those seven games prior to the all-star break. You are correct that we should be using more recent results to underlay our predictions:

Since 8/1:

The Mets were a very respectable 36-22 down the stretch. The Cubs were an "amazing" 41-18. How about them "apples"?

I actually love that website and thread other than using derogatory words. Let them be cocky jackasses, we will do the same. Let them point out things like "we're a different team now" and ignore that were a different team now, I'm sure there is something similar that we do.

They are the White Sox of New York and it seems like they have the inferiority complex to match. I don't know enough about their fan base but it sure seems like they have the same demographic stereotypes that Sox fans live with as well, true or not.

When will they announce the roster?? Herrera has to be the one replacing Russell, right? No way they'd do something like Szczur or another pitcher (Hunter, Ramirez, or Motte)?

I guess it's a good sign (or just that my message board viewing is pretty much just this place) that seeing that f word thrown around seriously is so jarring/unexpected.

I work with quite a few Mets fans and they are all good friends of mine, good people. But I think that is more a function of the professional setting of my office. The rest of the fan base, well, it is Queens, which thanks God every day for Staten Island.

I highly doubt it would be Szczur since he's not with the team, Herrera and Berry both seem to be still with the team so they'd be first choices I imagine.

Yup and most Mets fans are Jets fans so they are second fiddle all around in that town.

Only idiots use games that happened 3 months ago as evidence their prediction will manifest.

The irony in this post after all the 1908 stuff is outstanding.
