until 2005, arguably the best SS in the NL? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

he seriously did not say that.

sure did.

God help us.

Unreal. We will not be near contending even with a $100M payroll with that idiot running the show.

What the hell happened to the guy who pulled off the Lee, Aramis, and Nomar trades? Can we get him back now?

i just....i dont get it. How can hendry justify anything he's done over the course of this season. I think it will take a mass riot to get this bozo out of the front office.

He's sweating like Roger Ebert.

He knows there are millions of cubs fan staring at him through the TV saying "You STUPID #$!*!!" And he's nervous.

What does everyone here think the Cubs could of got in return for Maddux from the Dodgers? To think they could of got a top prospect is just insane.

Getting nothing back would literally have been better.

Thats a joke. I rather get something, rather than nothing for him.

Do you know how much money Izturis will make next year? I'm assuming not, otherwise I don't know how the hell you could say that.

he is a sweaty son of a gun. this is just my opinion, but he honestly looks like he is on drugs to me.

Well that could explain the past two years.

if the choice was to

1) trade Maddux for Izturis, give the Dodgers $2M, take on the remainder of Izzy's contract

2) Keep Maddux until the end of the year

3) Trade Maddux for a mid-level prospect, pay them some cash and be done with it

I'll choose #3, then I'd fall back on #2.

That's because you have... you know... a brain...

Rusch can't take Maddux's spot. If they're going to make such a crappy deal, at least they MUST give Guzman a shot, not Rusch.

I HATE Hendry.

It's even worse on HD

Dear Greg Maddux,

I thought you said you only wanted to be traded if it helps the Cubs. If that was the case, why didn't you nix this deal somehow?

That would explain this crap.

I think we may have just become the Dodgers minor league team.

Noooooo, the Las Vegas 51's are much better than the Cubs.

Hey, I never said AAA. I doubt they have anyone better than Z.

But Izturis is very bad and very expensive. You don't seem to understand that not all baseball players are better than average. The ones that are below average and make lots of money and play a lot negatively affect teams. Their teams would be better off just giving them away than playing them.

Press Conference:

Says he talked to Dodgers about top prospects... The excuse why that didnt go through seemed to be that the Dodgers needed them for the Lugo deal so it "worked out better for everyone"

What an idiot. Hendry gets played and is completely oblivious to it.

So what does the infield for next year look like?

1B) Derrek Lee

2B) Cesar Izturis or Ronny Cedeno

SS) Cesar Izturis or Ronny Cedeno

3B) David Bell (acquired as a free agent after Aramis opts out)

MI) Neifi Perez

The rest of the teams in the NL Central must be quaking in their boots.
