I really think that Jed is in jeopardy here. Tom really didn't want a complete rebuild, at least he said he didn't, I am sure Jed tried to sell him on threading the needle on not a a full rebuild. However, I am not sure there is anyway around it after this trade deadline. I guess time will tell, but I don't think Jed is here in three years.

Right? I know how we got here but its still strange that the organization is in this shape 5 years after being the crown jewel of the sport. I don't think so. Kid has like 400 professional at bats, we won't be very good, and poor Tom won't want to start his clock yet.

What I’m wondering is, the schools get money based on making the tournament. That money comes from the tv deal. That money supports all the non revenue sports. Did the NCAA just pocket all of that money by not releasing a tournament?

With a bit of luck this team is 18-2. It’s too bad Adam Miller doesn’t want to play with Ayo. Next years team with both could be as good as we’ve had in some time. Dakich was talking about Kofi being a one and done, think he's a little raw, one more season of development and the sky is the limit for him and the Illini. Everything I read said he was so raw and might not contribute this year. OA and Underwood have done an amazing job developing him.
