  1. What does it say about Carlos Silva that the Mariners are willing to fork over $9 million dollars and take on a psychotic malcontent to be rid of him? Hopefully, they hide him deep in the bullpen.
  2. Part of me wishes they won't be able to deal Bradley making Hendry look like a fool and hastening his demise under Ricketts.
  3. Appears as if the trade has gone down... http://www.phillyburbs.com/news/news_details/article/92/2009/december/07/burrell-traded-to-mets.html No names yet, but Burrell to the Mets via the Cubs.
  4. http://images.stltoday.com/stltoday/resources/miklasz235story.jpg Bernie Miklasz, a man who looks like an old lesbian.
  5. Truth be told, I think Larry Rothschild is a very underrated pitching coach, one of the best in the game.
  6. Yes, poor Milton Bradley is the victim. Everybody is conspiring against him, just like they did in Montreal, Cleveland, LA, Oakland, etc. etc... free Milton Bradley!!! Wow... more willful distortions. I never said he handled it well and didn't say things he shouldn't have. I just said that he was telling the truth. But of course, in your bizzaroverse, that was somehow equated with me shedding tears for this fragile ebony god. What truth? I suppose what he has said is true if you consider a world that revolves around Milton Bradley. Picking nits I guess. Maybe I'm a bit sensitive when it comes to such an emotionally-charged topic as Milton Bradley, but I'm getting a bit tired of Milton Bradley as a victim of (media, racist Cub fans, fill_in_the_blank). "You understand why they haven't won in 100 years here." What is true about that statement? The Cubs haven't won because Milton Bradley isn't sufficiently appreciated? That quote was made to Bruce Miles (a much respected Cubs beat reporter who posts here) in the Daily Herald. Of course, maybe he is misunderstood, maybe others are out to get him. Maybe Derek Lee, Reed Johnson, Ryan Dempster, Aramis Ramirez and Bruce Miles are all wrong and Milton Bradley is wrongfully being discriminated against due to distortions from the fans and media...speaking truth to power and all that, a martyr for honesty.

  8. Because much of Bradley's value is wrapped up in his on-base percentage, I think some people tend to see him as a litmus test in the increasingly tiresome sabermetrics vs. crusty old baseball men debate. Never mind the fact that Billy Beane, after seeing the error of his ways, jettisoned MB as soon as possible (that must make Billy Beane a racist). The fact that MB has had problems everywhere he has been seems to elude some people. Be angry at Jim Hendry for signing Bradley in the first place, don't be angry at him for suspending him (and I doubt Hendry gets anything for him on the trade market).
  9. What's laughable is that people seem to view Bradley as if he were Barry Bonds. He's been league average at the plate while playing below average defense - practically irreplacebale!
  10. I'm going to go out on a limb here, but I am willing to guess that Aramis probably has a keener insight into Milton Bradley's behavior and relationship with the media than you do.
  11. Unbelievable. I guess if you have the temerity to look slightly askance at Milton Bradley's conduct, you are a racist. That must make Derek Lee, Ryan Dempster, Reed Johnson and Aramis Ramirez card-carrying Klan members.. Milton Bradley needs to get help.
  12. That's got to be the textbook definition of a crushing loss. It will be fun to hand a couple to the Brewers over the weekend.
  13. The only way could get any better is if somebody released a black cat onto the field.
  14. Normally, I might feel sorry for the Mets, but then I remember this game.
  15. Now that home field is out of the way, let's go for a 100 wins!
