312 Sports is a new podcasting company run by Hubbard Media, so I'm sure they're looking for a portfolio of different podcasts to launch, even if it doesn't make sense to the people who have been listening since Day 1 of the launch. They'll also be doing a Bulls focused podcast, which Bernstein already had with his son. It's likely easier for Hubbard to develop advertising relationships with more of a variety of podcasts as well as more downloaded episodes and subscriptions in people's podcast feeds.

Twellman says the players' vote on Gio's status never happened. This whole story is so bizarre.

I would think that would be something a manager would go over with each of his players before the tournament. Most players probably have an idea of what their role is going to be but the manager is going to want to clear that up so everyone is on the same page. Otherwise it seems a little strange that Berhalter would only go up to Gio and tell him he wasn’t going to play much. That makes sense, to some degree. It's a good managerial style to be honest and upfront with your players and their expectations. I don't understand why he would say that to one of his best players. An injury to one of the starters and it's very likely that Gio's playing would have increased significantly. Particularly, if Gio's petulance has been clear to so many USMNT observers, one would think that GGG would handle Gio's situation particularly careful, if he envisioned any role for him.

I may have just missed it, but why did GGG tell Gio, ahead of time, his role was going to be very limited during the World Cup? Why piss off one of your best players, when injuries and fatigue and million other reasons could have thrown Reyna into a vital role at some point during the tournament? The hamstring injury or what that all just cover for this situation?

R.I.P. Grant Wahl. He's been an institution on the U.S. soccer beat for such a long time. I'm sure his brother is going through one of the worst days of his life, but he needs to step back a bit from making wild accusations.

For those in the know, is the next wave of U.S. talent (U-20s, U-17s, etc.) having those need complimentary pieces that this current team needs for replacements and depth?

A few quick thoughts: -Shaq Moore shouldn't see the field again in this World Cup. -Our set pieces are still so weak. Pulisic was much better today, but there were no runners or they were late. What the hell was that last one before the whistle??? -McKinnie was fantastic. He's playing with confidence and freedom.

That foul by Acosta at the end was so crucial. I'm curious to see Friday's line-up. Gio needs some run.

What's the best World Cup watching plans for the cordcutters like me out there? Doesn't seem like Fox has a standalone subscription to stream the games.

Anybody watching the U-20 Concacaf championship? They're available on YouTube. The U.S. dominated Canada in the run of play, but still only drew 2-2. Cade Cowell is very intriguing, but I don't think he played great in the game. Diego Luna was fun to watch.

My hope would be the English being drawn to play in Miami. The amount of red faced, sun burned puds from northern England would be amazing.
