I loathed the Q.O., and I loathed the fact that he accepted it.  Similarly, I loathe the fact that he is still giving up moon shots to almost every team he faces.  His departure will be met with my applause.

At this point, they need to be concerned about making the postseason at all. At first it was:

- catch the brewers (well that ship sailed)

- secure the Wild card top seed (whelp, that is going away as early as tonight or tomorrow)

- make the postseason (we shall see with 26 games left and this fuckin pitching staff)

so disgusted with this pitching staff

Honestly dont know if Shota should get another start his next turn in the rotation.

Assad needs to be brought up and put back in the rotation. He might blow up at some point but even if he does that would just put him on par with everyone else pitching for us anyway

Can we maybe not count this one as an L yet with 5 innings left?

Yeah, this is some Facebook level doom-porn. Just log off if you're giving up 4 innings into a game against a last place team

This collapse wont be as bad as the 8 game lead one but Its going to be pretty bad.

Shota has given up 28 HRs in his last 18 starts, an average of 1.56 per start.

If he played at that pace for an entire 33 start season he'd allow 51 HRs, breaking the major league record of 50.

There’s something distasteful about hearing guys gush over one of our players as the team heads for another loss.  I get it.  PCA is awesome.  The pitching staff is crap and the team itself is struggling.

I love how he always has this confused look on his face after every home run as if he’s thinking “how did they hit that pitch out”.

Shota face:

It's why I am more than ok with walking away from Shoda this off-season. I like the dude, and he is a good ML pitcher (despite the HR's) but he is better suited for a bigger park than Wrigley.

oh theres no doubt he's not going to be a Cub next year.  I dont think they wanted him this year but he took the QO when they weren't expecting him to.

The bigger question is, will he even be pitching in MLB next year?  Or does he head back to Japan to finish his career?

The shots he has been giving up, a field without a fence would have a hard time holding it in.

horsefeathers. Did not realize that if we fall into a tie or, god forbid, go down a half game in the wild card top seed standing that it goes away and we can never get it back. That seems a little unfair but if so we probably shouldn’t let it happen.
