  1. The belief that Boyd / Taillon / and Imanaga are anything but bottom of the rotation filler is delusional, to say the least. We knew this (or should have known this) going into the season. Throw Rea in, and we have ourselves the recipe for an underwhelming and incredibly disappointing staff. We need top-of-the rotation starters in the worst way, and sadly, I see none in the nearly-ready pipeline who can come and contribute. When Horton went down, my silver lining was hoping that Brown would take the mantle and run. While he has done that in ways I never imagined, the rest of the staff has lived up to their original billing. Is it too much to ask for a young ace? Can we somehow land a lesser-Mis or a lucky nugget like Harrison? It doesn't seem likely.
  2. Please tell me that I am not the only one that wants Imanaga jettisoned to the pen or traded for the ghost of Randy Wells.
  3. Is it even in the realm of possibility to go to the Red Sox with Shaw, Wiggins, Alcantara + and ask for Gray and one of either Tolle or Early? They have a young arm, and we have a young infielder who grew up idolizing Dustin Pedroia. Gray and one of the Sox kids could go a long way in fortifying our rotation. Just a thought.... maybe a bad one.
  4. I want a "MIS" on my team, and lo, there is none to be found. Why do the Brewers get all of the shiny things that all of us covet?
  5. Another Cubs pitcher gets shelved and PCA strikes out. That sounds about right.
  6. Watching Shaw go oppo is such a wonderful feeling. The dude looks like a Nico clone. Hitting 101 at its finest!
  7. Is there a world where the cost-cutting Twins would trade Pablo Lopez to us? Is there another world where we would want Buxton and the Twins would want Caissie and Alcantara? It seems to be a decent to good fit in my estimation, but the age old question, "what do I know?", instantly comes to mind. Thoughts?
  8. I do not think that they are done by any stretch. In fact, I am guessing that another starter will either be signed or traded for. This will certainly be interesting to watch unfold. Jason Ross, what say you?
  9. Best news of the day, for me. Now I have to cling to the hope that there is no qualifying offer being extended that he accepts. When your "ace" is benched in the playoffs, one must reconsider if he really has an ace. Next free agent up...
  10. Am I the only one that does not want the Cubs brass to pick up that 20 million dollar Shota option?
  11. At least we snagged super-utility bat Willie Castro at the trade deadline. What a great get that was (sarcasm noted).
  12. They might be saying the same thing about Assad. On another note, the Brewers win again.
  13. This is the mediocre, 6th starter, swingman, 4-A level Javier Assad that I have been waiting for all season, and like clockwork, the hype equals my hope. Yuck.
  14. I keep telling myself that they are using all of their baseball mojo in August and will somehow deplete that supply in September. I look at that roster with squinted eyes and I am relegated to simply tipping my cap. This streak that they are on is nothing short of amazing, especially when I see their nightly box score. Not a fan, just flabbergasted.
  15. Sandy Alcantara gets hit hard once again, and in the privacy of my own space, I uttered a sinister laugh.
  16. Are we at a place in time where we can start casting some shade on Counsell? The Brewers have been better without him; and in fairness, we seem incredibly flat and defeated with him.
  17. Is it wrong that I love seeing Gore and Alcantara getting lit up post trade deadline? I cannot be the only one on this island, right?
  18. When Willi Castro is your 5-hitter, you might have a problem.
