What a clusterpuck

The Minnesota Vikings are turning Monday night's game at TCF Bank Stadium into a "first-come, first-served event" for ticket holders, but alcohol will not be served, the team announced today.

I wonder how many refund demands they've received today

It says they expect it to be well attended, but if you could get your money back to an end of season game in a lost season lots of people have to consider it.

Vikings Ticket Office address 425 Chicago Avenue, Minneapolis, MN.

what's the capacity difference between TCF and the HHH?

50,000 to 65,000, I believe.

Well ESPN's "experts" unanimously pick the Bears to win the division, having all picked Bears over Vikings and Pats over Packers. I think I'm gonna have a hard time finding an expert picking anything but that result.

Edit: Nevermind. Peter King picks the Vikings to win 13-10

I'm not sure why they don't just roll some giant heaters out onto the field to melt the snow and make the water flow into their drainage system. That would solve the problem of the turf being frozen (for now anyway) as well.

This really could turn into a comedy of errors and make the people in charge of the decision look really, really dumb.

They are using a machine called the Snow Dragon.

C. Can somebody tell me.... Is TCF Bank Stadium a relatively new stadium (built in the last 15 years or so) or is it the same old U of Minn Stadium with a new name ???
Very new stadium. It opened in 2009.

Very kewl, thanx !!

btw, I waved to ya as I drove by this morning !!

I hope Webb starts, he has Wr eligibility and it would be pretty awesome to have 2 qb's play with one in the flex spot.
Thanks for the idea. :D

Not selling beer just means you're going to have a few thousand fans get rowdy, angry drunk with whiskey flasks poured into your $6 cokes and not make any money off of it. There's no reason not to sell a bunch of plastic bottled beers.

Is the stadium on campus?

Going by the articles I've read yesterday and today, Bears players are not happy to say the least about having to play at TCF. Not saying they won't give it their all, but it's not exactly the ideal mindset to be in for this big of a game. I don't care if you have to play on lava, just win this game.

Well they better get over it.

Losing this game because you decided to get all pissy about conditions is simply not acceptable. Not this week. Not with this much at stake.

The media has been asking them questions about it all week, so of course they're going to provide a few quotes. It's like any other non-issue. You can't equate a few quotes when reporters are trying to write a specific story with how players truly feel about it or how it's actually going to affect their performance.

now my goals would be

1. don't let anyone get injured

2. win the game (this is viking's goal number 5 or so so i dont feel bad knocking this to 2)

I think no beer + cold temps will overcome the novelty of the situation and we'll see a light crowd. Or maybe a full house at the beginning but a lot of early departures.

What?

The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports: Brett Favre might not take another snap in his 20th and final NFL season, but the quarterback said Thursday he plans to remain with the Vikings for their final three games.

"I am going to be here," he said. "Can't say I look forward to traveling any. Getting back at 3 in the morning for a home game the other day, I felt like I had played."

The prima donna is whining about the physical toll of travelling at odd hours now? He has to be attempting to set the stage for one last start doesn't he?

Haha. This tells me he's checked out for the season, regardless of whether he's going to be there or not.

Can't wait for the numerous camera shots of him on the sidelines Monday night, sitting there.....doing nothing.

Hopefully it's in the context of Webb performing so poorly that Viking fans wish Favre were healthy.

If he really doesn't play anymore, the phantom suspension rumors are going to grow out of control. He's never missed a game, and then suddenly he goes from possibly playing to out for 4 weeks?

Simmons picked the Bears with a 6 point spread, and I'm seeing 6.5.

This is frightening.

lol Simmons picked the Bears straight up last week too, and has in the past consistently picked against the Bears in games they won.

I'm scared

Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin returned to practice on Friday after spending a week at the Mayo Clinic seeking treatment for migraines that forced him to miss Minnesota's last two games.

Harvin told the paper he "definitely" plans to play Monday against the Bears.

Hopefully we can give him a whole new set of migraines to worry about.
