I'm rooting for the Eagles. A Giants win gives them the head to head for the bye over us (if we can win tomorrow).

It's just really hard for me to factor in the bye yet.

After a walk through, TCF Bank Stadium was ruled unplayable today. Great.

I'm only finding that the Vikes' punter, Kluwe, says that the field is unplayable, not any official ruling.

I think it's the precipitation, not the temperatures. The elements and poor field conditions negates the team's speed.

Bears fans, who do we want between the Eagles and Giants?

the team that you beat and not the one that mercilessly bludgeoned your QB?

I meant in terms of the Bears getting into the playoffs (division or otherwise). I expect the Bears to be one-and-done in the playoffs unless they draw the NFC West.

Obviously the Eagles scare me less than the Giants.

NFC west gets to play a wild card team, so that pretty much can't be us. It really doesn't matter as long as we win tomorrow

WBBM didn't say anything about Kluwe, but I guess it was just him.

Fair enough.

Yeah, it's just Kluwe. It looks like the game will still be played there.

he makes sense. i am scared of something bad happening to one of our good players.

I'm trying not to approach it with fear, but I'm finding it difficult not to.

I'm wondering if it would have been better to play this at the Metrodome, with an injured less-effective Favre, than outdoors on a dangerous, slick surface against a running QB who the Bears can't have much if any tape to study.

if it does, the league should just declare us the super bowl champions for the next 5 years and let everyone else play for second place.

and the vikings franchise should forfeit all of its games and all of its first round draft picks for the next 10 years.

this stadium sounds like a total disaster. who designed this thing?

Consensus is that it's a pretty great stadium. Opposite end of the spectrum from having to play in the dome for the Gophers.

great in September and October, maybe. Seems completely inadequate in cold weather

yea because they designed it for late January

Is it January? Does it never get below freezing during college football season in Minneapolis?

That's kind of like saying they botched Madison Square Garden because it's not suited for international soccer competitions.

Of course it does. I will agree it seems poorly designed for cold weather but at the same time it seems like the biggest issue they are having is because they took no precaution to all the snow falling on the field because they had no reason to expect to use the field until spring practice. I'm sure if they had thrown a tarp on the field and/or shoveled the snow up before it had a chance to ice over, there would be little issue preparing for a game.

I say all that and remember that the consession stands weren't designed to work under freezing temps. So yeah that part of it is poorly designed.

High of 27 and low of 11 when Minnesota hosted the season finale on late afternoon Thanksgiving Saturday. No problems with the field at all. And the average high doesn't drop to freezing until the last day of November up there.

Or it's not like that at all considering it's an outdoor football stadium in freaking Minnesota. It gets cold up there pretty early. I was up there at the end of October and was pretty well bundled up when I went running and it got much colder a couple weeks after that when the Gophers were still playing. There's no reason for them not to have made some kind of plans to be prepared for cold or snowy weather.
