Yeah, I don't see how the Vikings are getting screwed out of HFA. The weather conditions are going to favor them and a bad field should level the playing field. If anything, I think this helps Minnesota more than anything else.

That said, Bears win this game by 2 TD's instead of 4.

I don't think the Vikings are getting screwed at all. But how in the hell do the weather conditions favor the indoor team vs. an outdoor cold weather team?

I'll take Adrian Peterson outdoors and in snowy conditions versus a Tampa 2 defense. The Vikings also have a pretty big advantage in the DL versus OL battle when the Bears have the football.

The crappy team with a screwed up QB situation benefits from conditions that tend to even up talent and hinder passing anyway.

That's where I was going with when I said that the bad field and conditions should level the playing field.

I thought I heard some noise about the Vikes wanting to limit Adrian Peterson due to the conditions.

But that might have just been rumor mill junk.

Last week proved that snowy, cold conditions don't favor the Bears.

Last week proved that playing the Patriots doesn't favor the Bears.

For the most part....I don't think the Bears were gonna win that game in perfect conditions, but the Bears defense is built on speed, and the conditions clearly affected their ability to get to the right spots and make plays. It doesn't help that Lovie stuck with the cover 2 almost all game long, a defense where it is critical to be at the right spot quickly else risk being burned.

So I do worry when I hear 8 inches of snow is coming and there's gonna be a quick, shifty mobile QB on the loose for Minnesota.

Yeah he isn't 100%. I'm really not sure how he benefits from snowy conditions either, as someone previously suggested. The guy has yet to fumble this year, which is insane. He is definitely due.

Also, this notion that the Bears can't play in the cold and snow is getting pretty ridiculous. They got destroyed last week because they played the best team in the NFL who happens to play their best football in snowy conditions (See game vs. Titans last year). At first the idea of snow scared me for this game, but why wouldn't we want to face a rookie third-string QB in snow? Webb is from the south and I read he's never played in snow or temps below 40 degrees.

Also, the Vikings run defense is a shell of it's former self, they got absolutely gashed last week. I expect a pretty big night from Forte.

Who is probably going to be even worse in those conditions.

It is probably easier to be a quick and shifty aggressor in those conditions rather than a quick and shifty pursuer.

Yeah, but he/they suck.

No one really knows. Probably not even the Vikes.

Plus, he could suck but just look decent this one game.

Don't worry, my damies. I am guaranteeing victory.

Yeah, but I can't trust you after last weekend.

oh boo hooo

we've had amazing luck all friggen year long. we need to win a game where the conditions are against us.

yes, the cold and snow will likely help the Vikings and their junior high QB. Who grew up in the South. and hasn't played in the deep cold. ok.

yes, the game is STILL in Minnesota.

yes, all the local yokals in Minneapolis will be out bragging of football in the cold, and likely will be plenty hyper for the game at its start. and yes, if the Bears start slow, that could snowball.

but the Bears haven't beaten the Vikings in Minnesota since 2006. So much for that Tamp 2 dominating on field turf. Also, the past 2 years, the Vikings have routed us there. Good riddance, RollerDome.

so now we need a game completely away from Minneapolis to feel good about ourselves?

The injury concern is the only meaningful slam on this game, and I'm not yet convinced its a real concern.

After all of the crying and whining from you goofs I want to win this game badly. I hope your squad is as worried about the weather and field as you are.

So before people expressed concern about player safety you didn't want to win the game?

You are a strange person.

No I wanted to win it but was still thinking I'd be happy with a loss for draft reasons.

Your own punter described the conditions as "walking on concrete", said that "anyone who hits their head on the turf is getting a concussion" and publically hoped that "no one gets catostrophically injured at the trainwreck that's about to take place", so I'm guessing Bears fans aren't the only ones that are worried about head injuries.

All that said, I'm hoping that you are able to say "I told you so" regarding player safety tonight.
