If I'm the Dodgers I'd have a serious conversation with Ohtani about giving up pitching.  The shell we're seeing now had it's genesis with pitching related injuries.

You’d think they had those conversations already but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ who knows.

I think it is.  Otherwise, I can't explain it.

If you dig into their batted ball data the last three seasons, there are some weird horsefeathers things happening. A team shouldn't be able to sustain these sorts of BABIP numbers year after year while not hitting HRs and having one of the top offenses in the NL.

We're in Cardinals Pixie Dust Territory, and whether that means they cracked the code or are stealing signs or started sacrificing small children to a demon god, who the hell knows?

I actually asked AI the same thing today, before the game, because I thought he wanted to keep pitching, but his team didn't.  According to the AI (true or not), the Dodgers want him to pitch.

I don't know if it's good idea, him pitching over an extended period boils down to a question of not if his arm will start to bother him, it's a question of when.

Ashby and Uribe are human, have to think all the work is going to take a toll, right?

Does it matter? They probably have 3 more arms like that in their system, or Brewers get those arms when they inevitable trade Ashby and Uribe.

When the Dodgers were finishing up their championship run last, I was expecting them to fall short this year. But I was expecting somebody like the Phillies or the Brewers not the MFing Brewers.

Maybe the Brewers win it, their decline begin.

Maybe he should just pitch

Maybe.  Maybe not.😁  It's a long lasting debate for sure.

It’s rare the best baseball team throughout the year wins the series, but maybe it’s their year.

Unlike last year the Brewers have been really good all year.  Didn't need a ridiculous hot streak this time.

Credit to Cleveland, I don't think anyone was giving them a shot

Yeah, better than I expected.

It’s even more puzzling how they haven’t had a losing season in 10 years, They’re not the first small market/analytically minded money ball team to string together 90 win Seasons. But with constant roster turnover you’d think they’d have hit a speed bump eventually.

The Rays and Indians/Guardians have had lots of success with a few losing seasons sprinkled in while retooling. The A’s dominated the early 2000’s but had multiple roster resets and mini rebuilds after 2006….. There’s no end in sight with this horsefeathers team.

At least some of that Cardinals pixie dust can be explained by guys like Pujols, Rolen, Edmonds, Wainwright, Holliday etc. I had a level of respect for them. Milwaukee I just hate.

The secret sauce is the pitching, it's the most important aspect and they've been great.  Couple their line up with the Cubs staff and don't even sniff the playoffs. All the other things everyone talks up about them only work because their pitching keeps the opponents off the scoreboard.  Wouldn't mean jack horsefeathers if their staff gave up 200+ HR's.

I suggest just betting on the Brewers, b/c at least you can win some money out of it. And then if they lose, you’re still happy.

Funny you say that. That is exactly what I did at the beginning of the playoffs. DK had a 30% profit boost on picking the WS winner. I got the Brewers at +780. Not a huge bet where if they lost I would be disappointed because I didn’t win. But enough to say “at least I won money”’if the Brewers win the WS.

They scored 832 runs. Their offense was pretty good, they scored the second most runs. All the other teams I listed have all been great at developing pitching, yet they’ve had seasons where they’ve lost more game than they’ve won in any 10 year span. Maybe they’ve found some kind of advanced pitch com bugging technology.

Probably not, but I’ll accuse of them of it because horsefeathers them.

They were good before the pitch com.

Imagine if this, of all seasons, turns out to be the one Cleveland finally wins it.

This is my hope. They avenged ‘16 by winning 3 win or go home games in a row against a Chicago team. Now win it all. Since we beat them in ‘16 they have been my favorite AL team anyway. Fans were awesome. They have also suffered a lot. And they play in the Sox division. An obvious team to root for in the AL.

I am not into sports gambling or prediction markets, but I am thinking about putting down some cash on the Brewers to win it all this year.  The Dodgers look dead and MKE looks like the clear team of destiny.

Could Cleveland (or the Rays) give them a real shot?  I don't follow the AL very closely and can't name 3 guys on either team.  It just seems like it's the Brewers year and I should act accordingly.  Either I would win money or see a very funny collapse.

Sure, behind the Cubs but, they didn't give 200+ HR's, I'm certain they'd be were the Cubs are without their extraordinary pitching.

Of course. Good pitching and scoring runs wins games. Why a team with a limited budget is a lock to win 90+ games Every. Single. horsefeathers. Year. Without pause, is the mystery. It’s the kind of thing that you do in video games where you sign Jose shmo and juice edit him from a 62 to an 84 rating but with an entire roster full of Jose Shmos.

David Stearns doesn’t know their secret recipe and neither does Counsell obviously. It was aggravating enough dealing with this horsefeathers from the cardinals.
