I honestly thought the defense did some good things in this game.  Two Carolina scores were on short fields.  Thieneman looked excellent.  Got a couple of sacks, and Dayo looked motivated!

Both rookies in the secondary looked promising. Everyone else was just bad.

Yeah, the Bears' D made Byrce Young look good but, they're not immune to being bad in week 1.  Just saw, the Vikings let Watson get a free break, catch and fairly effortlessly run the sidelines for a TD.

kyler has a chance to become a hero if he comes back and helps out the secondary

stevenson and jaylon are running in cement out there

291 on the ground, 269 in the air. 72.4% from Caleb. 501 yards of total offense. Pure dominance.

the decision to go for it on 4th down was silly. You can’t expect this defense to defend 20 yards. The play calling got a bit vanilla in the 2nd quarter but I loved the fast start in the 1st after too many slow starts last year.

for all the JVDB preseason love, I didn’t hear his name once. Did he not see the field, or just a quiet day?

This defense is going to have to find answers quickly. Jaylon and Tyrique looked horrible. I know he had a sack, but Sweat needs to be more disruptive.

Stayed out of this thread all week but jumping in to say you're welcome, again, for revitalizing your entire franchise with a stupid trade

Bryce was slinging it. I hope we didn’t draft the wrong quarterback.

did braxton come back in after he got hurt? I didn't pay attention to who was playing LT after that

Yeah I saw him back out there a series or two later.

Perhaps I have set the goal post too low,  but the D-Line was better today. Not great, not highly disruptive, but they got pressure with 4 more than a few times. The DBs were just brutal aside from Muhammad. didn’t see anything from Booker either.

Kyler Murray left the game today with a concussion. The Bears play the Vikings next Sunday so very possible we get Wentz or JJ

I want to see positives too and I don’t disagree, but I don’t think that was a particularly good offense.

Benedet took his place for a bit

I think we all can agree the pressure is on Dennis Allen right now. The offense is going be something fun to watch. It's now up to Allen to make this efence at least slightly subpar instead of non-existent.

On the flip side, it was supposed to be a much improved defense, and the Bears scored 59 offensive points with 8(!) touchdowns.

If they can achieve merely "bad" instead of "perhaps worst defense in the league" we're a Super Bowl contender.

if Kyler Murray is out any significant amount of time, the Vikings winning vs. Green Bay and then shambling into Chicago with Carson Wentz is the best situation I can possibly imagine???

I might be more nervous with Wentz than Murray
