Having done no research on the matter, what's the highest fWAR a player has ever had and not won the MVP, because PCA might end up in the 10-11 range which is just otherworldly

A Google search turned up a pretty cool Reddit thread on this. One good answer for the modern game is Cal Ripken Jr. in 1984, 9.8 fWAR and received one piddly 10th-place vote.

That week against the Jays and Mets got him out of being awful,  but since then hes been pretty much up and down with a few good games and series squeezed in between his 0fers.
