I went to the crapper at 3-1 down and now it’s 7-1. Did I fall in or something? I don’t think I was in there for long.

You make him throw 100 pitches no matter what...

They start a big 4 game series with the Cardinals tomorrow, a team chasing them for a playoff spot. They cant burn through the bullpen now, why i said yesterday they wasted Assad with an 11 run lead, he could of given them 3-4 innings today to save the pen.

They can always pitch Civale. Not like he is going to get much use in important games.

He has to be cut. There are no other options

💯 - he is so bad. Can’t keep rolling him out there. He’s had his time, now he has to go

Taillon, time to go to the pen. I was fine with keeping him for a few starts after being injured, but it’s Assad’s spot now.

Sure. If the cubs are up by 10+ with a couple of innings left then I’m 70% confident that he’ll hold the other team to 9.

Sometimes teams try to cover and do the phantom il thing to keep good clubhouse guys like Taillon around , but tougher to do these days . MLB is on top of those things now

He’s 34 years old with a 6.81 FIP. Make him hottovys assistant or something

I assume lots of contenders have a starter in their rotation with a 6.00 ERA...

I never liked the Taillon signing, but he did give the Cubs a couple solid years of value in the middle two years of the contract.  But now, the time has come to move on.  Unless there's a minor injury and they can stash him away for awhile on a rehab assignment in case of emergency, he needs to be released by the next time this rotation spot comes around.

Pedro has been good but that was a 72 MPH 19 hopper that found a hole

nightnare scenario for Craig here, might have to waste 5 innings of high leverage arms chasing this win because our offense is so good

No. Trust the bats.

Boy, if only we had a pitcher that wasn't easily the worst in MLB that could have started this game

Yeh, if the pitching can hold opponents to no more than 4 or 5 , theres a chance for this offense to cover it
