Great to get the series win with this pitching matchup. Why not go for our first sweep of the year tomorrow?

Because Baseball is a dumb sport and the Mets are going to be leading their division in 12 days.

Great finish by Brown - not typical that Swanson or Hoerner muff grounders, but Brown bounced back nicely.
Great close byThielbar! Nice little run they have going.

Gotta give it to Counsell - nice call on the pinch hit. Broke the game open

It has something to do with Billy Wagner when they were teammates with ATL.

They talked about it during the broadcast... Apparently he had tendonitis in that arm when he was younger and letting it dangle helped mitigate the discomfort and afterwards he stuck with it

Yep. I am sure that had Kelly made an out people would have been complaining about pinch hitting for Mo. Glad to see Counsell acknowledged for a good move.

It was an extremely obvious dont let the lefty face the lefty move worked to perfection.

Yes. It is obvious. However many want to just let Mo bat. Plus, he could have went Shaw. I am sure if an out was made there the fanbase would have had a “better” idea.

Come now, they're not the Brewers.

For sure - I’m definitely critical of Counsell, but you have to give credit when it’s due. He’s working different angles with that DH spot (lefty righty & situational), and doing some interesting moves with a battered and injured pitching roster.

Definitely making some solid moves.

Also, gotta love Carson jumping on that first pitch fastball! Veteran move 👍

Quietly Ben Brown is getting it together.  He might NEED to be an important piece with all these injuries.

He’s going to have to be the best version of himself.  Today he threw great.  It was all ground balls, I believe.

Happ made a nice catch at the wall on a ball smoked to left. He gave up some solid contact, and was a bit wild. I think he is fine, but IMO, he didn’t throw great today. He did ok.

He pitched well in the 8th, but not in the 7th inning.  Yeah, overall, he did OK.  Ben got out of the crazy 8th inning.  That was great.

The 2-5 hitters outside of Happ need to get going. 2 home runs and zero in the last 17 games from Busch, Suzuki and Bregman won’t be enough unless Nico finishes with an 11 war.

22 strikes and 16 balls. Not quite on the level of his last few outings,

Very encouraging the way Brown persevered - hell be basically got 7 outs that inning in terms of what should have happened.
