  1. If we'd have grabbed any of the DTs that went at the beginning of this round instead of Zavion Thomas at 89 and I'd have zero issues with this draft. But alas...
  2. Why spend a 2nd round pick on a 3rd string WR?
  3. Roush is a beast... 13 personnel all day
  4. According to over the cap the bears freed up 10+million in cap space by restructuring Jonah Jackson and Cole Kmet... On draft night? Trades incoming tomorrow?
  5. It's definitely having an impact, but I think it could also be potentially beneficial in the right situation. I could see a strategy for teams who think they're in a competitive window intentionally drafting an older and more developed (physically and experientially) college player who can make an immediate impact while on the rookie scale, allowing for more resources spent elsewhere on the roster. Seeing who takes Mesidor and/or Stukes this year, for example, will be interesting.
  6. You've also got some pretty great trade capital if you wind up with 3 good to great OTs in a year or two. I'm not nearly knowledgeable enough to know, but would Trapilo or any of the late 1st possibilities be a good candidate to kick inside to G in a few years as Thuney ages and Jackson's contact expires? I'd still prefer an impact defensive player if one is there at 25, but im pretty much always good with an OT in the first as a default
  7. And they're going to have to pay him as much as they would've paid Hendricks despite giving up that draft capital... I know he's younger and interior DL game changers are harder to find, but pretty terrible resource allocation
  8. They talked about it during the broadcast... Apparently he had tendonitis in that arm when he was younger and letting it dangle helped mitigate the discomfort and afterwards he stuck with it
  9. AKME has been fired, it's about time! Billy Donovan not going to North Carolina... Are they letting him pick the new GM/VP?
  10. 6 years for 141 million per Passan 23.5 AAV
  11. I like him too, but no way DA wants a t-rex at edge
  12. Nah, he's ARSB. He can absolutely catch a deep ball and be a threat, but he needs to be catching passes in space and applying pressure all over the field
  13. Ben still needs a burner/gadget to round out his play calling options. Are there any poor man's Jameson Williams out there?
  14. I don't hate it as a one year contract. He was an average-ish starter before his injury, and was clearly not fully recovered last year. If he still doesn't have it at 100% recovered you switch the Theo until Ozzy is (hopefully) back down the stretch. Similar to C, it allows you to draft an LT if one you like falls to you. If that happens you're in a better spot if Ozzy is never the same, OR if they play well enough to hold down the position AND Trapilo comes back and looks like the same player you have a good problem of too many talented tackled and maybe kick one inside to G as Jonah or Thuney continue to age or get more expensive.
  15. It's a good question, though 2/12 is way less problematic than Dayo's contract Seems like the plan is to plug existing roster holes with cheap and unspectacular options, allowing them to truly go BPA in the draft. Hopefully they'll make at least one big impact signing... Not what I wanted them to do after the breakout last year. I was hoping Poles would do a few more restructures and go for it, but I guess not yet Edit: typo
  16. Cunningham trying to get us comp picks any way he can, lol
  17. A 5th next year is a pretty small price to pay, and it's because he's not all that good... And he's old. But he's a veteran body. I think they wanted to ensure they had SOMEONE to man the position as a fallback. Also allows them to potentially draft a C and give them someone to learn from
  18. Currently own 25, 57, 60 and 89 with a 4th and two 7ths
  19. Agreed. Still have the assumed trade/cut of Edmunds before any restructures as well, with a bunch of big money able to be easily cut after next year as well (Dayo being the easiest call, unless he turns it around). Not all of Poles's moves have worked out, but our books are pretty clean for the years Caleb starts to get REALLY expensive... Just need to make smart decisions on who else we give big contracts to going forward. Darnell Wright seems like an easy call, and adding a big contract at C to get the best of the best would anchor the line for the next 4/5 years
  20. I'd guess we add a burner/gadget WR, and Jahdae Walker will get a legit chance to win a spot in training camp. Really sad to see DJ go, but I get it.
  21. This is why smart teams never stop drafting or otherwise looking to acquire OL talent... Though early retirement obviously isn't as common as injuries and other attrition
