  1. Cunningham trying to get us comp picks any way he can, lol
  2. A 5th next year is a pretty small price to pay, and it's because he's not all that good... And he's old. But he's a veteran body. I think they wanted to ensure they had SOMEONE to man the position as a fallback. Also allows them to potentially draft a C and give them someone to learn from
  3. Currently own 25, 57, 60 and 89 with a 4th and two 7ths
  4. Agreed. Still have the assumed trade/cut of Edmunds before any restructures as well, with a bunch of big money able to be easily cut after next year as well (Dayo being the easiest call, unless he turns it around). Not all of Poles's moves have worked out, but our books are pretty clean for the years Caleb starts to get REALLY expensive... Just need to make smart decisions on who else we give big contracts to going forward. Darnell Wright seems like an easy call, and adding a big contract at C to get the best of the best would anchor the line for the next 4/5 years
  5. I'd guess we add a burner/gadget WR, and Jahdae Walker will get a legit chance to win a spot in training camp. Really sad to see DJ go, but I get it.
  6. This is why smart teams never stop drafting or otherwise looking to acquire OL talent... Though early retirement obviously isn't as common as injuries and other attrition
  7. It's a pretty deep draft at S, DT and Edge. Since we're at 25 instead of the top 10 I really like the idea of trading down to around 40 and seeing if you can get another pick or two in the first 100 back. You can set yourself up pretty well with 5 picks between 40 and 100 instead of 3 with the supposed defensive depth this year. Unless, of course, a potential game changer falls to 25.
  8. Not technically bears news, but in the division... The Lions just traded Montgomery to the Texans. Edit: updated terms from Schefter
  9. The city will be the holdup, they won't vote for the bears to leave city lines without getting a bunch of money
  10. Oh, he's DEFINITELY doing a terrible job. Didn't mean to imply otherwise
  11. I think Warren is doing exactly what he was hired to do... George realized after the fact that they horsefeathered up by buying the AH land before attempting to create a bidding war amongst municipalities for all of the money and tax certainties they're looking for. So they brought him in to clean up their mess and be a lightning rod for the criticism that would inevitably come with it. He throws a bunch of stuff at the wall to create whatever leverage and urgency he can to ultimately get the deal done in AH, and George gets to leak to the press that he "isn't happy" with what's going on and not look like the bad guy. In reality they should just sell the team to someone with enough cash to not need all this BS to build a stadium, but what are you gonna do.
  12. If he'd be willing to sign a deal that we can easily get out from under in 2 years, I'd rather just sign Trey Hendrickson and keep the 1st and DJ. We've got more than enough wiggle room with restructures to not need to sacrifice a 1st rounder to stay under the cap. Having said all that, Crosby would have a bigger impact than Hendrickson on the team
  13. He's also stated that he doesn't want to play another snap as a Raider, so they don't have as much leverage as Dallas did last year, even though they were also in a salary dispute. Granted, Myles Garrett said the same thing last year and wound up playing for the Browns again, so who knows
  14. I think it's a combo of the pass protection struggles that Benedet shows (especially against a talented front four) combined with how much they like him as the extra big in the jumbo formation. If the plan is to wear them down with the run in the cold maybe we'll see a heavy dose of that formation.. Whatever the plan is, it's certainly a ballsy roll of the dice with how little McFadden has played
  15. Mike Tomlin resigned as Steelers HC with 2 years left on his contact
  16. If the Eagles win we play them since they're the highest seed, if the 49ers win they will play the Seahawks since they're a lower seed than the Rams, and the Rams (who we haven't played) will come to Chicago Edit, typo.

  18. Odunze OUT, Burden IN on Sunday... According to my fantasy football updates
  19. I think that's good news for Burden and CJGJ... hopefully Nahshon is just precautionary
  20. Hard disagree. Joniak isn't the best play by play in football or anything, but I'll take his energy and passion over Larrivee any day of the week
  21. Braxton Jones and Kyler Gordon to the IR... Gordon is great, but made of damn glass
