  1. The Commies? Where is Sulley when you need him
  2. Was Jenkins active? If so, did he get in the game at all?
  3. Really solid throw back in the city series jerseys this year... [tweet] [/tweet]
  4. Oh hell yes!
  5. Pete Carroll hates turn overs so much that heavily indexes on the run over pass... Russell Wilson REALLY wants a pass heavy offense. I'm sure there's a whole bunch of other, smaller things contributing to their relationship being a little bumpy, but that's the crux of it
  6. Looks like it's a 6M signing bonus for Graham, meaning the 9M guaranteed is 6M this year against the cap, and 3M next year if we cut him... Still very much not a fan of the move
  7. Bears re-signed Trevathan for 3 years, details haven't been announced yet so it's too early to evaluate the move. I'm pretty surprised considering how well Kwitkowski did filling in and Trevathan's age...
  8. Only 2 Cubs... Davis at 55 and Marquez at 80
  9. Victory horsefeathering auto wreckers?!
  10. Boyz II Men can sing every national anthem as far as I'm concerned
  11. Eagles also seem like potential competition for Pat Shurmur. Shurmur has been hired as the Broncos OC. Apparently the bears made him an offer and were rejected. Shurmur had supposedly been high on Drew Lock before the Giants picked Jones and is looking forward to coaching him... Additionally, Nagy's control over play-calling and the offense in general vs being 100% the guy in Denver under Fangio are believed to have been important to him. Not a good sign for our search
  12. A blog or two on my news feed are throwing his name around as a top of the list candidate. That would be a pretty fast rise... 1 year at quality control coach, 2 years as QB coach with what seems to be a generational quarterback, and then OC. The relative lack of experience compared to Shurmur and others is cause for concern, but he'd definitely be on the same page as Nagy. It's sounding like he wants nothing but Reid deciples this time around. I wonder what effect (good or bad) grabbing helfrich and hiestand from outside that tree/system had on what they were trying to do offensively
  13. If anything, the way things are setting up there are more options for QB than most years. I think Philip Rivers, Cam Newton, Andy Dalton, Marcus Mariota, Nick Foles, Teddy Bridgewater and Eli Manning could all realistically be had. In some cases we probably don’t have the resources or cap space, and in other cases like Eli especially it’s likely not an upgrade. But the fact is there are a lot of potential QBs that should be available if you want to give up on Mitch or at least challenge him. If QB was your only need to get to the Superbowl and it was glaring, I'd think Rivers, Manning or Newton were maybe options, but they're all more likely to regress than rebound... Especially since none of them have a lot of experience in the Reid/Nagy style playbook. Dalton and Mariota have shown even less promise than Trubisky of late. Foles and Bridgewater are somewhat intriguing, and I wouldn't mind either of them as backups/competition but not flat out replacements... And you'd still have to fix the OL/TE to give either of them a legit chance
  14. I would draft a K too. You're not wrong
  15. Womp womp. At this point Trubisky will be around again next year, and there are no real good options to replace him anyways. Use the next 2 games and, I dunno, maybe the preseason next year to develop him in any way you can. Draft and sign nothing but OL, TE, and edge rushers. Don't let Pace trade away and future draft picks, and next year either goes well and we're in the playoffs, or goes bad and Pace, Nagy and Trubisky are all gone.
  16. Hicks is a trooper
  17. Finish your drives and friendlier refs and this game is 14-14, but we can't and the refs aren't
  18. The offensive line is holding us back, otherwise I agree
  19. Spygate 2.0??? https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/28261318/patriots-say-video-crew-filmed-sideline-bengals-browns-game
  20. Let me start off by saying Trubisky is terrible and shouldn't be starting... But is 54 pass attempts vs SEVEN rushes a recipe for success for ANY QB in ANY game, let alone a young one coming back from an injury? This season's struggles are more on the coaching staff than they are on the QB, and given how bad the QB is... That's saying something
  21. They can always make Long pretend his aches and pains are worse than they actually are to save face and get someone else in there. Whispers around the team make it seem like Rashaad Coward will be the starting RG coming out of the bye. I know he's still developing and who knows when he'll be ready and what he'll actually be in the future, but what is the current projected role on the line for Bars? They obviously think he's got potential since they matched New England's offer.
  22. I think this is why he'll get another shot to pick a QB if this Trubisky thing doesn't work out. Many tied his fate to Trubisky when he was drafted 3 years ago, but the rest of his moves have been pretty phenomenal. And while QB is the most important position to get right, you also have to remember he made the pick with John Fox as HC, maybe even without Fox knowing about it happening. I think he'll get another chance to work with Nagy in picking the next QB, if necessary. I could be mis-remembering, but around the time Nagy was hired wasn't there a narrative that he had been just as enamored with Trubisky as the bears were before the draft? I even remember shots of him with a looney toons-esque face staring at Mitch like a t-bone at the combine or a pro day workout when he was with KC
  23. Pathetic. Stop turtling on 1st and 2nd down... The o-line isn't good enough to take over the 2nd half and cram it down their throat.
  24. It wasn't even the staring him down... How the hell was that throw EVER gonna be a TD
  25. So who is a free agent this year? A competent QB gives them a chance in 2020. Colin Kaepernick
