  1. what would you say if I told you I had evidence to suggest that Theriot does not, in fact, find a way to get on base all that well? Inconceivable! http://67.59.184.41/5/3/listings/wallace_shawn.jpg
  2. now if only all those unfounded A-Rod rumors from a few months ago were true too...
  3. Especially Boston... provided their ego's don't clash.
  4. Well, if you consider Wallace a C, then Noah would probably be able to step in and play that role, albiet with an initial dropoff in defensive ability. I would make that tradeoff, though. Between Noah and Joe Smith, and depending on PJ Brown, you should be able to deal with the frontcourt ok. Tyrus's ridiculous vertical abilities help down low too... although he doesn't have the size to deal with true centers yet.
  5. I'd see if Hinrich, Gordon, and Noah could get it done with possibly Brown to bring the salaries closer. Duhon/Sefolosha, Bryant, Deng, Thomas/Nocioni, Wallace is a well rounded and incredibly solid starting 5. Whichever two don't start out off Duhon, Sefolosha, Thomas, and Nocioni will make the top of our bench very strong, but our depth beyond that would be weak.
  6. Just curious, but why? I wish other people would explain why they're rooting for the Padres or Rockies like I did. :P Go Rockies Reason----1984 Jason Hirsh is on my Xbox Live friends list, so.... GO ROCKIES!
  7. I dunno, but it sounds delicious. ...nice avatar! :D
  8. Likewise. My mental state can be best described as.... giddy. this thread has made me get up outta my chair and jump up and down in anticipation a few times already, and we haven't even plalyed a pre-season game yet.
  9. Without researching this for a single second, I'll go ahead and say sure. He missed a lot of playing time last year due to problems with his shoulder, he was cut after failing a physical upon arriving to TC, and he is no spring chicken. I'd probably pass.
  10. Ya, i'm not worried about Hill either. His K/9 is still around 9 and his K/BB is still around 3, his curve just wasn't biting as much as it was earlier in the season, staying high in the zone, and getting crushed. He seemed to have it worked out tonite, lets hope he can keep it up.
  11. Danny Ainge = dumb. Pierce and Allen are going to be fighting each other for the ball all year...
  12. 10 minutes into the pre-draft show and i'm already tired of Stephen A Smith...
  13. It is a risk, but IMO if he's healthy he is the most unhittable pitcher in the majors.
  14. Jose Reyes Grady Sizemore Albert Pujols Johan Santana Francisco Liriano (provided everything looks good with his rehab)
  15. what time does the draft start, and what what is the clock system like? ...haven't truly paid attention to an NBA draft in, well, forever.
  16. You, like Jim Hendry, greatly overrate Izturis's defense. He would look great on this team but in defense of trading him it did take the kid awhile to figure it out... something he might not have done in Chicago. Exactly-just at the end of 2005 his prospect status seemed to be gone. He was 25, and had just put up a 746 OPS in Triple A. It wasn't until halfway through 2006 when he was traded to the Reds that he even started to figure it out again in Triple A. Plus, it's not like he was traded for somebody terrible-even looking back, I'd probably rather have Murton overall (Harris right now, but I think Murton has a better chance to have long-term production), and that's with knowing that Nomar would be hurt most of his time with the team, which we certainly didn't know at the time of the trade. I'm not saying that i didn't like, or wouldn't have jumped all over, that trade. I'm just saying that i liked him when he was with the cubs, was sad to see him go, and am even more sad now that his OPS is 266 points higher than our everyday SS.
  17. I never said Iz was a great SS defensively, i just said that he'd have an edge defensively over Harris, who seemed to be destined for 2B while he was with us. And who knows what he could've done with consistant playing time, before being given the everyday job this season he had a total of 110 AB spread out over 3 seasons with 4 different teams.
  18. Tampa Bay gave him the shot that a bunch of posters here thought he deserved a few years ago with the cubs, and he has responded. You don't hear much about him, but he is having a great season in the #2 spot and playing SS. How good would his .321/.376/.502 (215 AB) look in place of Izturis's .250/.306/.306. I realize Iz has an edge on him defensively, but those offensive #'s easily make up for it. He was a double short of the cycle yesterday and a triple shy of the cycle a little over a week ago. I was mildly bummed when we traded him, and I'm extremely bummed now...
  19. I just heard an interview with Tommie. He swears the whole thing was a big joke, and that the media is trying to turn this into something. Tommie said that during the entire interview Mcnabb was standing behind the media listening, and they both had big smirks on their faces. Tommie will be hosting Chicago Tribune Live on Thursday I believe, so Im sure he will address this more then. Ya, they played an interview with Rex on ABC 7 news, and as Rex explained that Harris was joking and called Tommie his "guy", Tommie walked up and called Rex his "guy" too, and the both of them walked into the training facility laughing and giving the media a get outta here type of wave as they turned... it was pretty funny.
  20. What's AROD on pace for? About 160 Actually at the RBI/games pace he's goin he'd end up at 177. And while it still isn't 191, it isn't terribly far off. But since RBI's are so team dependent, this information doesn't really do us any good. All we can say is that he has an outside chance if his team mates keep giving him opportunities.
  21. Any idea when Goodell would announce any league suspension for Tank? It may have been mentioned somewhere in this thread, but 136 pages is a daunting task...
  22. No matter what, i'll never stop rooting against the knicks. Y? The 1990's among other reasons... The name John Starks still makes my teeth grit and my fists clench...
  23. I will too, and it probably won't be on purpose. that is hilarious and disgusting at the same time. and probably true for me as well. I'll just crap my pants from all the muscle spasms from shouting YES YES YESSSS!! (pfft!) You guys might all be interested in a pack or two of these... http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q235/midorex/oops.jpg
