  1. One of the truly class acts of pro sports. He definitely deserves better.
  2. Aside from Cubs updates on my phone, I've been under a baseball rock most of the year. What's the deal with Fowler and the BFIBs? I'm assuming they're treating him how we expected they would. Anything more specific?
  3. Len mentioned something...I think it was something about him having a really high slugging and really low OBP. <.300 OBP, >.500 SLG http://northsidebaseball.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=2152&p=266874&hilit=kingman#p266874 Thanks
  4. A couple days ago on my mlb app I had a notification for an article about Baez on pace to set some unusual history at the plate. I can't find it on the app anymore, and some googling has availed nothing. Does anyone have a link to the story, or at least know what it said?
  5. Tuesday's 6-1 loss was only the 6th loss this year by 4 or more runs, compared to 19 wins by 4 or more. Over the last calendar month, RD is at +70. (In the same time frame, Yankees are +25, Astros are +55, Red Sox are +35)
  6. There are 33 pitchers in baseball who have qualifying IP and a WHIP between 1.6 and 2.0. The mean and median ERA in that group is in the low 6's. Chatwood is one of only 3 to manage an ERA below 4. Something's gotta give. I'm hoping it's his IP. Keep Monty in the rotation when Darvish comes back.
  7. I've re-watched all four games the Cubs won from start to finish. Lingering takes from game 7: - I can't watch the Wild Pitch again, but knowing the ending, the Davis HR makes the whole thing more awesome - I have a very vivid memory of time moving in slow motion on that Kipnis foul ball. If I had to live the entire off season with that feeling, I'm not sure how much of a stomach I could have for baseball anymore. - The Fowler HR when he rounds first, and Rizzo's reaction to Zobrist's hit (starting at 4:29:21 in the video above) will probably give me goosebumps for the rest of my life
  8. I went to a game in cincy in 2009, and thought it looked just curious enough to give it a try. That was a terrible decision. No idea how those people stomach that crap. Cubs need to abuse these clowns. If the bats aren't going to show up against the decent teams, there better be dongs a plenty this weekend.
  9. I'm a couple hours east, but the forecast across all of Georgia has been the same all day... 60-80 percent chance of rain/thunderstorms every hour since about noon. It was enough for my friend and me to cancel our afternoon of golf. Not a drop of rain all day. It's been sunny and hot. I think the forecasters got today wrong, and I think they get this one in. (Still... two hours east tho.)
  10. The Braves broadcast didn't have any conclusive angles. Was it clear that the tag didn't hit the helmet on the wild pitch?
  11. He has rattled off some weapons grade butthurt, and hasn't begun to let up yet.
  12. Jedd Gyorko, Tommy Pham, Paul DeJong, Yadier Molina ... Typing these names out gives me an instant blood pressure spike. Stoopid Cubs need to humiliate the eff outta these fools.
