  1. I believe ABC has exclusivity to NBA broadcasts on sunday afternoons, hence the tape delay.
  2. ...and now he hurts himself, sigh.
  3. WOW!!! Tyrus with a DOMINATING block at one end, and comes in as the trailer on the ensuing fast break and finishes it with a posterizing MONSTER of a jam!!! bulls up 35-27 early in the 2nd...
  4. :D I've been waiting for this thread!!!
  5. Excellent. Man I am pumped for this game. LETS GO BEARS! Hah! who would've thought a year ago that we'd get so wrapped up in the health of Desmond Clark... It's amazing what a somewhat agressive QB can do for a receiving corps. Also, is it just me, or with his beard and shaved head is Desmond Clark really starting to look like an African American version of Captain Spaulding from 'House of 1000 Corpses'...
  6. what exactly did people do for a quick little celebration back in the day? Hug, wave, pat on the back, shake hands... what? For some reason i always assumed the high 5 had been around since the beginning of time, and its just weird to think of someone hittin a homer, running all the way around the bases, and then not high fiving whoever he drove in as he gets to home plate. *edit for correction of incredibly poor grammar.

How bout show SOMETHING...I like Rex, but I'm leaning towards Grieseball at this point. I can't figure out why I like Rex either, he hasn't done anything....ever. I was completely opposed to the Grossman pick. But for some reason, I kind of like him now, even though he hasn't done much of anything. I think every Bears fan feels like this. I love Grossman even though he hasn't done anything. I don't know why. Matthews, Wuerrfel (sp?), Miller, McNown, Stewart, Orton, Chandler, etc. is why we love Grossman. Our list of QB's has been so dreadful that we will blindly cling to any hope that we have of good quarterbacking until they have demonstrated how horribly bad they are at the game. Its a tiny little ray of light, but its all we got. Plus I think a lot of people like Rex's gunslinger/big play attitude after years of check-down and then dump-off weak armed Sallies running the offense.

You might've spoke too soon... Looks like Mike Brown hurt his achillies again. It is said to be just a "twinge" (i hate ambiguous injury descriptions), they aren't too sure but they think he'll be back for the openner. Losing Brown in 2004 and late last year hurt big time, hopefully he can get back to 100% quickly.

Another Injury at Bearbonnais. Fullback Bryan Johnson goes down this time, with an injured hammy. In probably a bit more important news, Bradley has looked good with Berrian sidelined (although according to the blurbs at the bottom of the page Berrian will be working out again on Monday :D ). Also, the coaching staff continues to rave about Rex's performance, lets just hope he can make it through the preseason games this year...

ummm, I can't think of too many teams with RB needs and a better than average TE... The now Edge-less colts have Dallas Clark. Other than that, the niners have just about the worst running game in the league, and they just drafted Vernon Davis. Neither of those have even a remote chance of happening, however.

I partially agree with you, but IF they were to trade TJ i'd rather they go after a TE than a WR. Moosh, Bradley, and Berrian at least have somewhat of a chance to be an above average WR group, but Desmond Clark and his pothead backup are one of the worst TE duos in the NFL. I hoped they'd address it in the draft, they didn't. I hoped they'd address it in FA, they didn't. IF they were to make a trade I still hope that is what they would address, but i doubt TJ is actually goin anywhere.
  12. Not as if there was much of a question as to whether they would, but Thabo and Tyrus officially signed with the Bulls today. LINK
  13. "This team Izturible!" or maybe put a hyphen in there to help spell it out... "This team Iz-turible!"
  14. He's hearing footsteps, but he'll get used to it. After he meets Roy and DeMarcus...he won't be on the field. Footsteps? Who's near him, the ref? Actually, I think ducking was a smart move there... He is (of course) a MAJOR numbskull for being off in la-la land and not knowing the ball was comin at him until the last instant. But if he knew he couldn't get his hands up in time to catch the ball, getting out of the way so the ball can fall harmlessly to the ground instead of deflecting up into the air off of his helmet or shoulderpad was some quick thinking. I mean the clip is funny now, but imagine how much more humiliating it woulda been if it bounced straight up off the crown of his helmet and the defense picked it and returned it for a TD... Again, he is still most definetely an idiot, but IMO the duck was a good move.
  15. I knew Halas was a great coach, but i didn't realize HOW dominant he was until i looked up the bears on wiki... 324-151-31 overall record in a little over 40 years (split up into 4 ten year segments) with 6 NFL championships, jeez! Speaking of Halas, how does a man with sooo much football butt-kickery built into his genes end up having descendants that are comparatively horrible at running/owning a football team?
  16. I don't know what this means in terms of young pitchers and their future, but ALL of his troubles have come on the road... including todays game, here are the home/away splits. Home 5 GS, 2 W, 1 L, 30.2 IP, 18 H, 7 ER, 22 K, 10 BB, 1 HR, 0.91 WHIP, 2.05 ERA, Away 5 GS, 1 W, 2 L, 23.0 IP, 26 H, 23 ER, 16 K, 16 BB, 3 HR, 1.83 WHIP, 9.00 ERA I'm thinking/hoping that eventually he'll become more comfortable on the road and reduces those gaudy numbers. But you never can tell... Edit: used slightly wrong home IP figure, now fixed.
  17. They've got to make a mistake and accidentally not loose at some point. I think it is perfectly plausable. Soon, I really think they will pull out of this dismal spiral towards hades and start to win a few. This, however, does not take away the fact that they are a sucky teem and will likely play 500 ball at best, at worst keep loosing 2 out of 3. So, here is a question: Lets say that the Cubs on average loose 2 out of every 5 until they get Wood, Prior, and Lee back. Once they have these players back, where in the standings will they be? Will they already be out of it? Will those player's returns make a difference where they will win 2 out of every 3? Or just play .500 ball? I'm guessing that once we get those guys back, we will be a .500 team (or perhaps a little bit better) but will have dug ourselves enough of a hole that we can't make it out. ...um, he said that because there is no game tomorrow.
  18. COOMER!!!! i miss that Babe Ruth-like physique runnin around the diamond... nice form on the helmet spike too!
  19. All your base are belong to Carlos! He set us up the bomb!
  20. Maybe, but they need an influx of offensive thinking to turn around that disaster. I don't think Millen will use up his last chance on such a coach as Rivera. And if somebody does take Ron, I'm not all that worried. Lovie is the mastermind of this defense. Rivera's influence is from Philly and Johnson, which is a blitz all the time defense, while the Bears don't blitz. I see Lovie finding a very good replacement if Ron leaves. He's coaching in SF right now. I don't think they'll go specifically on a offensive guru again (Mooch), they'll look for an up and coming coach and I think they have the potential to go after Rivera. Quit giving me goosebumps! Singletary back in the Bears organization would be awesome! The intelligence that made him the one of the best linebackers to play the game is also a huge asset as a coach. Apparently he was also a very successful motivational speaker before deciding to take up coaching, so i'm sure he'd have no problem getting the team jacked up for ANY opponent. I love the job Rivera's done so far, but if he gets stolen away like the bums over at ESPN seem to think he will, Angelo had better give Singletary a shot.
  21. Sunday Hop. as Chip Carey always used to say "That ball took a Sunday hop on a Wednesday afternoon" ...man I'm glad he's gone!
