  1. Got the Congratulations email but it confuses me... The email says: Aren't all of those games almost guarenteed to not be at Wrigley? I understand the odds (of at least that first game) were better when the email was actually sent, but logistically, the games they'll be selling tickets for on Monday . . . will they actually be these three games or not?
  2. I believe this guy has been quoted on here before...
  3. I agree. It looks like a Fourth of July display. After just watching the Glenallen homer, I spent a moment thinking this was reliving the lively shoe debate between Chip and Stoney.
  4. Those on the board that so closely follow the minors and player development: is the "full year" at each level strategy actually a good one (or in this case, is it even honest)? Or is promoting as they seem ready more common/effective?
  5. Your run-on sentence makes it sound like Dawson is your dad :) /English teacher, who likes to inject "Grammar does matter" into everyday conversation.
  6. Better to be young and bad than old and bad... Lopez has played parts of 11 major league seasons, four times racking up ~200 innings. He is certainly bad, but to his credit he has managed to make a career of it. $12 million in estimated career earnings isn't too shabby either. But yes he is bad.
  7. Talking about paint over baseball... gonna be one of those years' game threads. :) edited to add: talking about what people are talking about over baseball ... one of those years too
  8. He is not. Now with the Astros. http://houston.astros.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20120111&content_id=26316470&vkey=pr_hou&c_id=hou
  9. #-o sure it's dumb, but I do like the excitement level -- in late October, for a team that lost 91 games and has been a disappointment for 3 or 8 or 100 years, depending on how you define it.
  10. It all feels like so long ago, but I don't think I ever would have supported a trade for Prior.

  12. Well now they say Aramis has declined it. Would it still "count" as being an all-star this year, or does his declining negate that? Not that counting it means much -- you'd think there'd be a financial incentive to being named an allstar, not that it would represent too much to most of these guys.
