Not really, he was a product of Rothschild. Since Larry is no longer here he's now going back to what he was without Larry, Its not like he just forgot everything Larry taught him. I tend to think that coaches at this level are predominately responsible for making sure player's stick to their mechanics, are well prepared physically for their games, and mentally for the competition -- all things that would require his presence every day. I also believe that coaches are a relatively small factor in players' successes and failures at this level, but anyway... If good mechanics = more success than your reasoning is flawed and a coach can have quite an impact. Only if the difference between Larry's mechanics coaching and Mark Riggans' mechanics coaching is particularly large -- which I wouldn't assume it is, which is really my point about the impact of coaches I guess.
