did i miss something?

when did someone boot up @David?

So basically, I joined, and first said some controversial stuff in favor of Jed, and then I got disliked. I posted a thread about an analogy between the Cubs and a 19th-century-classic novel (which IMB quickly replicated) amidst users thinking I was AI. People are generally annoyed with me, but my excuse is that I'm in high school.

So when I started, this guy named Jason Ross tried to befriend me and made a weird comment about neurospice/ADHD, which he later confessed was written because he believed I had neurodivergent issues as well in a private chat. When I mentioned I was in high school (around his age when he started the forum), he abruptly started talking to me. I confess that I unfairly disliked some of his content because I was mad and because I perceive the actions about the neurodivergence as questionable, and Javy and Bobson Dugnutt, among others, quickly tried to frame me for being an AI chatbot, despite the fact that I posted a ton of baseball content already. I feel weird about Jason, but I don't think he's talked to me since, and I've already reported him so the situation's getting better at this point.

Meanwhile, Derwood, who's half-annoyed and half-helpful, is trying to teach me how to be good on the forum. People thought (and probably still think) that I'm a bit, and many of them reported me when I said something about liking the Packers in the Bears thread, which I apologized for. Furthermore, others, like Javy, are on a disliking spree, trying to defend certain article-writers when I talked about basic economics. And they compared me to David and a few other people (like one pretentious dude who thought that he was smart and erratically interpreted advanced stats).

I've made a lot of mistakes, and I'm willing to correct them, so I'm thinking about leaving for a week to clear my mind and write the first chapter of my proposed historical nonfiction book, 1908. I'm trying to get advice from members; some of them are nice to me, and some aren't. And, as it tends to be in most cases, those who don't are more outspoken so that they appear like they're the majority. All I want to do is be liked and be wanted on here, but I don't think it's the case right now. (Which is fine, considering this, although a bit more heated, is a typical introduction for me to a forum until I get settled in.)

So that's it. I hope we all move past this, even the most unspoken downvoters.

I suggest switching your focus to a packers related book.

Perhaps something like "The Life and Times of Mark Chmura"

So here are some scenarios mapped out simply for clinching the playoffs regardless of seed and DIV/WC.

Also this is only 1 team ties, not sure how it works out with multiple teams tied for 1 or more spots, but its pretty unlikely that the Rams, Seahawks, Bucs or Panthers find themselves in a tie with the Bears for a WC spot (where one team is in and the other is out) for a few reasons, mainly that the Seahawks and Rams still play and the Seahawks also still play the 49ers.

Bears go 2-1 or 3-0:  Make playoffs because DET already has 6 losses

Bears go 1-2:

-Bears beat GB but lose to SF and DET:  One of GB or DET must lose one of their other 2 games.

-Bears beat SF but lose to GB and DET: SF or DET must lose one of their other 2 games OR Packers lose both of their other 2 games

-Bears beat DET but lose to GB and SF: Bears clinch a playoff spot (11-6 vs 10-7 at best)

Bears go 0-3: Only scenario I can find where the Bears get in is the Lions losing their other 2 games, in which case the Bears will have already clinched prior to the Lions game.   The Bucs and Panthers both have 7 losses, but they still play each other twice so one team is taking the division and the other is getting at least their 8th loss, unless they tie twice.

Dude, I have been on this board longer than you have been alive. I probably have posted less actual words than you have in the last 3 days. I am not saying I am popular on this board, but I think it is actually like real life. Listen/read more, comment less

It’s comical how there was a split among Bear fans who wanted to trade out of 1 to build around the 1 read fumbler with extra draft picks.

I was a Fields apologist for way longer than I should have. But, I was 100% on board with moving on and drafting Caleb. Lovie Smith made the stars align in such a way that there was no way you could have gone any other direction. Thank you, Carolina! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Also, this is shaping up to be a great draft class. Loveland, Burden, Monangai and now Trapillo are all making significant contributions. Loveland is the teams leading receiver since week 9 and Luther is number 2.

I’ve already mentioned it before but not only did Carolina gift us multiple blue chip players for for Bryce young but the cherry on top is cutting both Darnold and Baker Mayfield, 2 pro bowl quarterbacks in the process. That’s as big of a f ck up as the Browns trading for Watson IMO.

Build a David Tepper statue if we win a superbowl.

No. Lucky for Javy/others, I'm going to be pretty silent for the next week as I write the first chapter... it drains a lot out of me, and I want to be as historically accurate as possible. I'll like comments I like, I'll love the comments I love, but I won't be commenting as much. When I finish, I'll create a thread about it.

I'll take your advice as I write the first chapter. I won't comment that much. I'll like what I like and I'll love what I love. I'll be back in a week!

This one could get frustrating, or the Bears could get their first wire to wire no doubt win since September

Well okay then, that’s settled

Got most of the frustrations out of the way by the end of the first few series. I'll take that. But, I'd also like to see a dominant first drive of the game that ends in 7 points for the good guys.

Lots of positives to take away from that game. This OLine is making Swift and Monangai look like Pro Bowl caliber RB's. At the same time, I think they have both been putting the work in. Swift's cuts have been very impressive this season.

Yeah, it looked to me like we were one easy drop away.  Monangai had a lot of room and blocking galore on that little screen.  Still though, there was no first half struggle, and yeah Cleveland has injuries on D, but so does everyone and they're still a good defense.  It was impressive yesterday on the O side of the ball, minus some drops.

If this chapter of whatever you’re writing is meant to generate interest and conversation here, be prepared to be disappointed. You can’t force us to be interested, and you’ve already started on a bad foot

Bears are very slim favorites to win the division after Green Bay's no good very bad day yesterday

It's so wild to be 10-4 and still slightly worse than a 1-in-4 chance of missing the playoffs.  Every other 10-4 or better team has at least a 91% chance of making it.
