Chicago is a touchdown favorite at home, which will likely be their last game as a favorite this season.

if they somehow lose, they will not make the playoffs. If they win, the division title is still a slight possibility

Cleveland is weird. They seem to be self sabotaging. sanders has seemingly played well in one win and one fairly inexplicable loss. This one could get frustrating, or the Bears could get their first wire to wire no doubt win since September

I'm gonna be rude but I need them to not only win this game, but to win it by more than one score. I think they take it, but I want them to pound a very bad team (with a very good and scary defense), at home.

This should be a game thats kind of boring by the 3rd or 4th quarter.

And please, be good for 60 minutes Caleb.

I imagine they'll be slightly favored at home vs Detroit against a Lions team playing their first really cold game and first outdoors since Nov 16.

Maybe if they take care of business against Cleveland and look good as dogs the next two games but right now they are dogs. +1.5 on lookahead lines

Myles Garrett has 20 sacks this year, the Bears have 24

Caleb Williams has 20 TD passes, the Browns offense has 23 TD's.

Personally I think the Bears will beat the Browns handily, win at least one of the last three games and be in the playoffs. I guess that's a weird thought to have though?

It's not. Jersey just has no joy in his heart

Pretty good timing to take on a free short-term loan before a potential loss to Cleveland dashes their chances of making the playoffs, let alone hosting a game.

Heh, all potential playoff teams are apparently required by the league to do this.

I think they can. But I also think with a tough last minute loss last week and revenge on their mind for next week this game could be tougher than it should. 2-2 is clearly on the table here and probably  the most likely outcome. If you could bet on win totals in next four I’d take under 2.5 and over 1.5.

what would you place the various win total options in terms of % likely?
9 wins, 5%?
10 wins, 30%
11 wins, 40%
12 wins, 20%
13 wins, 5%

I keep wanting to start speculating about the offseason already.  My mind has been trained that this far in the season, that's what we should be talking about.

Last few weeks have made me appreciate the scroll wheel on my mouse even more. Every time I check Tankathon to see how bad the latest Bears win has wrecked their draft position I have to scroll down a little.

I think you're underselling things a bit, but I realize based on your previous posts that it comes from a place of "the Bears are not really that good"

If the Bears lose, at worst they are tied for a playoff spot (though currently losing the tiebreaker), 1 GB SF with a chance to win that tiebreaker with a H2H win, and have a chance to claw back to 0.5 games of the North with a win the next week (though I'd agree the odds become very slim with a loss this week).

The fact that we play all 3 teams we are are competing for a playoff spot with in the final 4 games with 3 of our last 4 at home while only SF has what I'd consider an easyish schedule gives us some wiggle room especially when playing an AFC opponent this week.

But again, if you don't think the Bears are that good and losing would put them in a position to have to win 2 of 3 against teams you believe are significantly better than the Bears, I can see where what you said makes sense.

I'm sure this has been mentioned but it's going to be insanely cold for this game.  Wind chill -20 kind of stuff.

I live downtown Chicago and will not be going outside this weekend.

Good teams win these games. We will see what kind of a team the Bears are.

They've literally won all these games. The only question is do good teams win these games by 3 on a last second game winning drive.

If you ever want to feel cold any given winter day, Google the weather in either International Falls or (my heaven) Tower /Ely Minnesota.

People can live in that horsefeathers, believe it or not

I'm not even entertaining the idea that the Bears could lose this game. I mean, they obviously could, but it would be a disaster. This isn't the type of game that a team that makes the playoffs loses, at home, at this point in the season.

I desperately want them to win a comfortable game. I don't care how good Myles Garrett is and I don't care how good their vaunted defense is. The Browns are a basket-case team running out a 5th round rookie QB and the Bears need to run over them like they did the Eagles.
