It's all I thought of while watching The Bear.

Which is especially crazy, because she’s not even in that show. But I guess it is a show about eating.

I'm 98% sure this post is serious, so you might want to look up the actor who played Desi.

Nah just shoehorning in a joke.

*shrug*

Came as a surprise to me when I looked it up. Now Richie will forever be the guy who chowed down on chocolate starfish.

I didn’t even know heated vests were a thing until last night, but splurged on two for me and my wife to lessen the misery.

I didn't know either. The most important thing is to make sure your feet always stay warm. Once those get cold, then it really sucks

yep, I went to that Bears Falcons game in 2005, it was like 3 degrees.  Wore 3 pairs of socks along with a ridiculous amount of clothing to stay warm.  Entire body was fine except feet, was a miserable experience.  Luckily I had seats in the United Club so I could go inside and warm up frequently and still mostly see the game.

I've heard socks, grocery bags, then more socks is a winning formula. Never tried it myself

I read somewhere the putting cardboard under your feet would help too so your shoes aren't on cold concrete for 3 hours.  But I just read that Soldier Field recent banned bringing in cardboard (specifically listed in reference to cold weather) which seems silly.

Yeah our neighbor who sold us the tickets gave us that same tip, and then we saw the release from the Bears last night that it’s not allowed. I guess they don’t want to clean up thousands of pieces of beer boxes?

I was at that one too, but not in the united club, unfortunately. Yeah that was cold as horsefeathers.

i was at the rams game in 2018 which i remember being a lot colder than it was. Apparently it was 26°. I was thinking closer to 10°.

my deepest condolences to everyone attending the game.

Soldier Field making a point to ban cardboard for people's feet seems like an extra layer of unnecessary cruelty. I mean, if you're gonna do that you have to provide some kind of substitute for peoples feet

It's the same idea as putting latex gloves, then gloves on your hands.  Works for keeping one's hands warm, I suspect same will work for the feet.

socks, bread bag, more socks

or do as Minnesotans do, ignore the cold. Its only temporary

I had a coworker mention that a rookie mistake is to put on all this stuff on your feet first as you are traveling to the game, and your feet get super sweaty, and then when you get in the cold that's when it gets you.  So if you are traveling in on the train or whatever, save the extra layers until you are about to get in the cold. And yes, some sort of plastic layer over the warm layer is a must. When I go running in 0 degree weather, I run with plastic bags over my gloves and it works like a charm.

I was there too. 20 yard line lower level best seats Ive ever had. Beers would turn to slush after about 2 minutes.

Tip: Bring the cardboard stashed in your clothing just before you go to security. But dispose of it when you leave the game. I think the Bears don't want to clean up tons of cardboard everywhere.

Odunze was limited in practice this week, and is listed as questionable for Sunday.  I'd almost rather he sit for this one and heal up more for next week if I'm being honest.

Since I was in my early 20s, we made it a point to tailgate all day from like 9am on.  By 2pm the keg we brought completely froze over.  Never had that happen before or since.
