Everything going against Taillon today and he's just getting guys out

I'm not trying to diminish his success or anything or be a hater but he is facing a mostly right handed lineup.  It's a good matchup for him.  And I'm enjoying watching how he's bounced back from the 1st inning

What do we think happens when Amaya comes back? Is there a chance Kelly is DFA’d instead of McGuire? Kelly’s had a bad couple months now. But i know catching is one of those positions where the defense and game calling matter a lot more than the offense.

No.

Valdez is tough because one pitch has sideways break and another has downward break. Unless you guess correctly, you're screwed

Did he not look 39 last year

There 3 possibilities here, because in limited plate appearances vs lefties at age 39 he’ll go on a heater and put up a similar slash line after the all star break, he’s having a down year and the ageless wonder will turn back the clock on some other team next season and keep playing at a productive level until he’s 50 and bored of baseball, the third and most likely scenario is that age has caught up to him. He’s been on a downward trend since 2019 after turning 34 as you’d expect, even with his production.

No . With that said if McGuire keeps hitting home runs there is a small chance they just cut Brujan . I know it would leave them with only Berti as a position player on the bench , but Brujan is basically a PR only 🤣

What he did in Milwaukee doesn't concern me.

He's been a serviceable #5 starter this year

Yeah, I get not being enthralled with Rea, but he was like the 8th starter going into the year.  Three guys got injured and Brown has disappointed. Until they trade for another starter, it kinda just is what it is with Rea. We’ll just hope they can squeeze a few more starts like last night out of him until that time comes.

Feels like the Cubs need 2 starters, a late inning reliever and 2 right handed IF bats but there’s no way they can address all of that at the deadline

Cubs seem to take the we are facing elite pitchers narrative way too seriously .

Yep, they just up there swinging at anything close to the plate.

You just knew the Cubs weren't going to be allowed to be the only team to get a ridiculously cheap ass homer into those boxes this series

Yep, knew it would happen

Why let him face the top of order again and being over 100 pitches.

CC played press your luck and got Whammied

Dumb
