They probably average about 2 runs per game in rubber matches. It's really disappointing.

Yea, also really not liking Sunday games

Colorado managed to score a run in the 10th but the Brewers obviously still have to bat

and they coughed it up in a very Rockies way. Tie game

Next up:

CHC: 3 vs. CLE

STL: 3 @ PIT

MIL: 3 @ NYM

CIN: 3 @ BOS

All three expected starters for Cleveland are righties

Gotta sweep the Pirates, be nice to get 2 against Cleveland and Boston, Mets will be tough in NY so just try and get 1 there at least.

If they go 7-5 at worse, I'd be happy

He's listing who the Cubs, Cards, Brewes, and Reds play next, not the next 4 series for the a Cubs.

Cubs 4 series going into the ASB is CLE, STL, @MINN,  and @NYY

Cubs definitely played like a team ready for their day off.

3-4 against St. Louis and Hou is not terrible but blah.

It's kind of like the end of the 2018 season.  The Cubs aren't free falling but it feels like it because the other teams won't lose.  Every other team in the NL Central had a winning record in June except the Cubs, but the Cubs were still 13-13

Rockies win!

So after a 13-13 month they only lose 1 game off their lead when it started.

Theyll be ok

Man this place would be having a 5 alarm meltdown if we lost the game the Brewers just did.

- Lost to a bad team

- Missed an opportunity for a sweep

- Missed an opportunity to pick up ground on 1st place

- Bullpen gave up runs in four straight innings (two being zombie runners wouldn't matter)

- A former Brewer had the big hit

- 2 for 12 with runners in scoring position

He can't draw a walk to save his life.  That'll be his next thing to work on, to become a true MVP caliber player

If he doesn’t cut down the strikeouts he’s not going anywhere

The way I see that is that the rest of the NLC had to play hot baseball just to stay with the steady Cubs.  It would not surprise me if the Cubs division lead is back up to 5 or so by the end of July.

This sucks but the fact is we will end June with the division lead.  Time to just put it behind you and play great baseball again.

I think the Brewers are a problem. People want to discount them but they are good. I wouldn’t be shocked if the division came down to the very end.

I agree.  Personally I don’t discount them though.  But they’ll be good the rest of the way.

he's under 24%, he can still go places with that number if the power is real

Right, next four for the Cubs are

vs. CLE

vs. STL

@ MIN

@ NYY

Don't believe there will be any tough starters the Cubs will have to play against.

Cleveland: Williams, Bibbee, and Ortiz (Cleveland is struggling)

STL: Mikolas, Liberatore, and Fedde

MIN: Woods-Richardson, Festa, and Ober

Yankees will be tough: Rodon, Fried, and Warren.

(Assuming no postponements and pitchers getting skipped/moved back).

No reason Cubs can't win 8 of their final 12 games.

They seem to overachieve every year so you can never count them out. Seems like Counsell didn't quite bring the magic sauce with him from MIL.

Can't believe people are criticizing Counsell for leaving Taillon in the game...

I'm not mad about him leaving Taillon in the game, even if he gave up that homer.

Hindsight is 20/20.  I think Taillon struck out Altuve the 2 previous ABs, I don't have an issue with the move.  Pitching in air conditioning means the high pitch count isn't a huge deal as a one-off to save the pen a bit

Crazy thing is he's on an 8 WAR pace with i believe the highest chase rate in the league if not MLB.
