In the long run, that's way more important and exciting that anything negative happening right now.

And that's as a rookie who clearly has tons of room to improve and grow.  He could significantly cut down on his sacks and improve his accuracy in the next season or two.

If he doesn't throw a dirt ball to Moore a few plays earlier, Moore probably runs it in for a touchdown and we'd be arguing about whose fault is the defense let them score with 30 seconds left

What's crazy is that he started the year 0TD 4INT. Going 15 TD to 1 INT since is absurd, especially as a rookie.

That SearsTower Twitter dude who may or may not have inside sources says Poles wants an immediate firing but ownership was holding him back but may be convinced now

I think that's plausible

So you want him calling his last timeout with 30 seconds left on 3rd and 27?

Obviously in a vacuum no. But by the time there was 25 seconds left it was obvious they were completely discombobulated. Your options are to ride it out or stop it with a to, call a sideline pass and worse case scenario attempt an unlikely field goal. Then you go to the presser and say obviously we wanted to have that timeout to set up The FG but time was ticking away and we weren’t close to getting the ball snapped so i made a decision.

much better option than what happened. And that’s not mentioning him defending it all after the game lol

It a simple fact if Jim Harbaugh is coach of the Bears they win this game and are probably 8-4/9-3.  But no, Bears ownership wants to win in "right" or what the horsefeathers ever way and Harbaugh is just too out there for them.  Oh well, at least the Illini kicked Arkansas' ass.

I don’t even think you need a coach of Harbaugh’s caliber to be 8-4 right now. A replacement level coach has them at least 6-6 or 7-5 right now.

Warren is not really a football guy. If Poles wants to fire his coach why stand in his way of doing his job?

It's the McCaskeys call not Warren

Ownership gave Poles only three head coach options. Ownership might not let Poles fire Eberflus. George McCaskey said “I’m not a football evaluator, just a fan.” Yes, ownership is a big part of the problem.

Most any "fan" can now see Eberflus must be shown the door.

Poles could have made a change and chose not to.

What gives me pause about firing Poles is that he selected Caleb and I know it’s early, but he’s fighting through significant headwinds and looking pretty good.

My question on Poles is how much credit you give him for the Panthers' pick turning into no. 1 overall.

He took DJ Moore away from them which helped make them worse. It was an all-time great trade.

Source is by no means reliable but If I share these Twitter reports enough maybe it will actually happen

Honestly the postgame stuff was almost as damning as the stuff in game. Players openly taking shots at Eberflus combined with Eberflus doubling down on his decisions and taking no accountability.  Just an awful look for him.

So from the press conferences, it was indeed a designed QB run on the second to last play (I hate that call) and Borom didn't hear the snap count and thus didn't slow down his man at all.

The offensive players all assumed a timeout was coming, hence not hustling to the line at fi st

Then the coaching staff wanted to re run the same play, Williams overruled it and tried to audible, which is why there was confusion at the line

Everyone knows Eberflus needs to be fired. You have an extra 3 days plus a full week with a new coach. Eberflus’ only redeeming qualities have been his ability to coach the defense and that his players respected him. The defense has been shaky late in games for some time and his players have lost faith in him. There is not a single reason to keep him and even the conservative McCaskeys have to see this.

Hard Knocks in-season would have been so great.
