  1. the bulls are really a mess. they finally miss the play-in and their reward is (likely) landing in the worst spot in the draft. too low to get a blue chip, but too high (and you're too bad) to take some older college junior role-player. if you end up at 9 or 10 just trade the pick, let billy go (he will not do a rebuild) and crash out next season. I like Buzelis and Giddey but they aren't even championship building blocks, so if a tank year costs you them too, well ... ok fine
  2. i like the way the ball sounds of ballesteros bat
  3. cade horton was holding the offense back it seems
  4. 3 weeks ago i would have told you i had no faith in matthew boyd and cade horton to be good and/or make it to the ASB and I still would have said this is an 88-win playoff team. there is plenty of middling pitching languishing around, the cubs' 2026 has rested and still rests on the defense (elite) and the bats (TO BE DETERMINED) im not trying to be an optimist, because i hate this team franchise and front office, but i think we're fine.

    Boyd to DL

there's probably the same likelihood that steele is done as a relevant pitcher than there is that he comes back and posts a sub-4 era this year

good, maybe jed will stop trying to stock our rotation with soft-tossers now that he knows they just get hurt like the flamethrowers anyway get. real. horsefeathers. pitchers. please.
  7. we have very different definitions of the word perfect
  8. where is tom gonna find 1.5 million dollars
  9. there was a split at nsbb in the early aughts between the Steve Stone fundamentalists and the Kent Mercker extremists. The Mercker extremists combined with Adam Dunn and Len Kasper truthers to create da louneg, where we mostly came up with insane plots aimed at making certain posters mad. Once Facebook took off, we began spying on NSBB members and I gotta say, 20+ years later as a 44-year-old adult, I am at times embarassed by how much I know about you people.
  10. We used to call this da lounge and it was too beautiful for this world
  11. brutal takedown by the handbasket.co founder
  12. time for a new coach!
  13. defector would be great if they never gave their weak-ass bluesky opinions on sports
  14. all of the big scoring games are a little fraudulent, except ironically maybe Luka's 70-pointer (he went like 25-33 from the field lol) Even Wilt, they say the other team was intentionally fouling late to let him get to 100. Kobe and Bam both went crazy and then got the "horsefeathers it lets see what happens if we leave him out there" treatment. I will say that the Wizards were really working on Bam, a lot of those fouls were legit. To me the bigger issue is Kobe's 81 still looked like basketball in the 4th. Bam's looked like LA Fitness ball. Devin Booker had a 70-point night and it got pretty scammy late too. Looking it up, I forgot Mitchell and Dame both had 70-pointers that look real. Bam's real problem is he beat Kobe and the shots he beat Kobe on were gimmick free throws with the Heat fouling the Wizards up 30 to get Bam the ball back faster. I dont know, it was cool to see but I dont know that anyone is gonna care too much
  15. a walk/single+a sb does not equal a double. You ever see someone knock a runner in with a stolen base?
  16. listen i hate him too but slurs are unacceptable
  17. yeah right maybe after he institutes sharia law in nyc
  18. i have nothing to add at this time
  19. its not so much "can mo get to average behind the plate," because he can probably get close enough that it doesn't matter. the question is probably "how long can he stay close to average behind the plate" and that answer is probably "not very long at all"
