Poles should go. Flus was his guy, and the roster - especially the DL - has proven over and over not to be good enough.

Also, yikes.

There are rumors that Warren wanted Flus fired in the offseason but left the decision to Poles and he kept him. Basically doubled down on him. At some point wins and losses matter even if you started your tenure with 2 tank seasons (or especially if you started your tenure with 2 tank seasons). He made it clear this was the team he built to compete and the result is a team that will have a worse record than last year largely because the coach he kept keeps leading his team to last minute losses.

I do hate the idea of doing an organizational overhaul every 3 years and want some stability but with Caleb looking elite you absolutely need to do everything possible to support him. If Poles isn’t getting it done and built an oline that has him getting crushed every week and keeping coaches who are inspiring no confidence, then perhaps you need to replace the GM too

With 13 seconds left, Moore and Kmet are at the line and ready to get set when they suddenly start talking about who should be where and wait another four seconds before actually getting set

That was the difference between the time management working as intended and the debacle we had

13 seconds? They had 30!!!

flus needs to understand he has a rookie qb and he will not always understand late game issues, it was FLUS’S responsibility to call the TO and get his offense set for 2 plays

Who was The last #1 pick (QB) to survive his first year coach being fired?

I feel like it’s too late for Flus to learn.  He ain’t it.  Weak sauce.  He’s one of these guys who may look the part but there’s no substance.

Caleb all but saying it was completely Eberflus's fault with the TO. That he more or less isn't allowed to call a TO at that point in the game. Said he called one earlier in that drive but in that scenario he defaults to the coaches.

Caleb basically said at around 16 second lefts, he had to audible the call because the play call would have ended the game and he had to audible into a play that would have had a chance at a TD once he realized it was going to be the last play.

That doesn't make sense unless Williams forgot they had one timeout left

I mean after the play.   No play takes 17 seconds to execute.  There's no reason for Williams to think a play can't work unless he forgot they had a timeout

I can't stand people who refuse to acknowledge when they horsefeathers up. You say you horsefeathered up and you'll do better, but even refusing that you did anything wrong is why he's a complete failure as a head coach.

When do you want him calling that timeout?  With 10 seconds left after they've already wasted 21 seconds?  Then when they throw an incomplete pass and Santos can't hit from 55 or whatever it was, you'd say "Well, eberflus made the right call on that timeout"?

The fact that they don't have a kicker who can make a FG from 55 yards in this day and age is stupid.  I know Santos is accurate and all, but you must have someone who can hit from deeper than Santos' range at this point.  The biggest problem is that Eberflus never seems to have a plan for what to do in situations.  He has no contigency plans in place to execute.  He needs to be gone.

The players know this and that’s why they are hammering him for it. He has to be fired tomorrow.

He’s accurate because he doesn’t really try deep field goals

I seriously think this might be it

If they lost 44-10 or something I would say it was 25%. Now I would say it's 75%

On the plus side

Caleb Williams so far 2612 Passing Yards 14 TDs 5 INTs on pace for

3700 passing yards 20 TDs 7 INTs

In the long run, that's way more important and exciting that anything negative happening right now.

And that's as a rookie who clearly has tons of room to improve and grow.  He could significantly cut down on his sacks and improve his accuracy in the next season or two.

If he doesn't throw a dirt ball to Moore a few plays earlier, Moore probably runs it in for a touchdown and we'd be arguing about whose fault is the defense let them score with 30 seconds left
