You can absolutely pick holes in any suggested option for what to do differently. Like I said there are no optimal suggestions here. But what played out was the clear worst possible outcome.

also different conversation but it would have been nice if the Bears didn’t burn that second TO to prevent a delay of game (I think that’s what happened right?)

The Lions also burned a TO to prevent a delay of game, and they were at home.

It was the worst possible outcome because the players on the field executed it poorly. If you wanna blame that on coaching not teaching or inspiring them to execute it correctly, go nuts.

I really can't wait for Eberflus to get fired so we can spend all our time appreciating Caleb WIlliams.

Our rookie QB faced two elite defenses this week and threw for 596 yards, 5 TDs and 0 turnovers.

He now holds the NFL rookie record for most passes without an INT.  He holds the Bears rookie records for passing yards and TDs, and has more passing yards than any season of Justin Fields' career.

He is on pace for 3700 yards, 20 TDs and 7 INTs.

He needs to average 245 yards per game in the final 5 games to break Erik Kramer's franchise record of 3838 passing yards.

Was that hands to the face call at the end legit? That was obviously a killer call against the Bears. Instead of 1st and 10 from the 13 with 40 seconds left and a TO, it’s 1st and 20 from the 35. If that penalty isn’t call there’s a good chance we’re happily celebrating a feel good Thanksgiving victory over the now 10-2 Lions. It’s mind boggling how many games we’ve lost by extremely narrow margins without winning any.

we are a cursed franchise. I’m going to guess that no NFL team has ever experienced anything like this over a 6 week stretch

100% legit. he knocked his helmet clean off.

The Kmet pick is the one that kills me. You *just* got called for that earlier in the game and you do it again?

Another aspect of the curse this season is that every time anything starts to look good, two more offensive linemen get hurt.  We are probably celebrating a win if Darnell Wright hadn't gotten hurt.  It was Borom just reacting to the snap that got Williams killed on the sack before the time scramble debacle.

IIRC it was legit.  Pushed his helmet off.

Definitely legit, as were both Kmet penalties. The horse collar penalty against the Bears and that Keenan Allen call were both complete horsefeathers though.

don’t forget the punt being downed inside the one with a millimeter of space between the guys heels and the goal line

Jenkins had hands to the face so hard it ripped the helmet of the Lions’ lineman off

I’m actually more interested in a dissection of the second to last play

romo said it was a qb draw I’m guessing because of the way it was “blocked” but Caleb wasn’t gearing up to run from the looks of it

Looked to me like Borom didn't know the snap count or just got unbelievably hard beat off the line.

If the Bears don’t fire Eberflus by tomorrow, head coaching candidates might think they have a serious organizational problem. That was the rumor with Ben Johnson. The only question will be does Poles get fired too. Would you hire Ian Cunningham as his replacement?

Me too.  His performances aren’t receiving the attention they deserve.  The only thing bugging me is that it seems to take until the 2nd half for him to click.  But I’m not sure how much of that is him, or scheme, or both.

If you fire Poles you just go ahead and clean house. Let the new GM pick his coach

poles ain’t getting fired unless it’s way worse behind the scenes and George and Warren are on tilt

and not because he doesn’t possibly deserve to be but the narrative just isn’t there

Poles should go. Flus was his guy, and the roster - especially the DL - has proven over and over not to be good enough.

Also, yikes.

With 13 seconds left, Moore and Kmet are at the line and ready to get set when they suddenly start talking about who should be where and wait another four seconds before actually getting set

That was the difference between the time management working as intended and the debacle we had

Cunningham would be the GM as picked by Kevin Warren. Unless the Bears want to be rid of Poles and his right-hand man.

That's as blatant as you're ever going to get in the NFL. He really might be gone tomorrow.

Flus wasn't really his guy though. Flus was the guy he chose amongst the few that made it through that obscure outside interview process
