That’s somewhat on Caleb, but Eberflus you are so gone

Yes Caleb didn’t help at all there but that’s on the coach

Calling timeout would be awful there. Then you're facing a must-sideline throw just to try to get a long field goal.

If you wanna blame the coaching, blame them for not having the team ready to execute a quicker play.

Yes, much more awful than having the clock run out

We'll need a whole post-mortem analyzing that play.  Williams kept signalling for them to hurry and then some of the receivers started making adjustments so they couldn't snap

who cares, the coach can also call a  to

When do you want him calling that timeout?  With 10 seconds left after they've already wasted 21 seconds?  Then when they throw an incomplete pass and Santos can't hit from 55 or whatever it was, you'd say "Well, eberflus made the right call on that timeout"?

he could have called a TO at anytime after the the last play ended, its not that hard to understand

So you want him calling his last timeout with 30 seconds left on 3rd and 27?

You're right, letting time run out was better

Even my wife is sitting here saying it’s on Eberflus.  It’s his job to call TO..

And now it’s on Poles to recognize the unacceptability of it and fire him.

from that point until there were maybe 15 seconds left, YES THAT WAS THE TIME TO CALL A TO

It’s quite simple

you have 30 seconds to save your season/job. You have a timeout. You call a TO and have 2 plays ready and let it rip. You don’t end that game with TO in your pocket.

Once the clock got to 10-15 seconds, a TO had to be called. You get the first and then have enough time to spike the ball for a FG if you get tackled in bounds.

And if the clock gets under 5 seconds, you call a TO to regroup and call a final play.

Yes

Then you're just wrong.

Things that you can blame on coaching in the closing minute:

1) Kmet running the exact same pick that got him called before
2) Whatever that weird QB draw where nobody blocked was
3) The offense being slow to get back to the line
4) The receivers making adjustments so we can't snap with 10 seconds left

But calling the timeout at any point between 36 seconds and that play being snapped was objectively the wrong call.
