Yeah, I don’t watch all the Bears games. I don’t pay attention to all of the players. The little I have seen of Santos is that he doesn’t have the leg strength so his long kicks have a much lower trajectory than a lot of other kickers. The one he hit early in the game was a line drive. I wasn’t shocked by the block based on how his earlier attempt went.

Again, this is something Eberflus should know, little details, Eberflus misses them every time.  It's the Packers, your conservative approach has never worked, if there was ever a time to be aggressive and try to get closer that was it.

We just saw it's possible to close the gap in QB play between the Bears and Packers, have to work on the coaching gap next season.  Really, not so much a coaching gap as it is to find a competent head coach, the Bears aren't devoid of talent and will add more next year.  It's they're devoid of anything resembling good coaching.

The bears organization is basically a Cleveland level of horsefeathers. They aren’t going to close any gaps

My wife thinks I’m crazy because I said like 5 times in a row “The Bears always miss this kick” as they were setting up. We all knew it was coming but it doesn’t make it suck any less.

Has she never watched sports with you?

I know there’s butterfly effect and all of that but imagine a world where the Bears didn’t lose 3 games with 90+% odds of winning in the 4th quarter last year. They’re 10-7 and maybe in the playoffs.  Imagine a world where the Bears defend a Hail Mary and don’t settle for a 46 yard FG when they had time and timeouts to get closer or at least move the ball to Santos’ preferred hash mark. They’re 6-4 and I believe in a playoff spot right now. Eberflus record goes from 14-30 to a more reasonable 19-25 and 16-11 over the last 2 years.

Our playoff odds are currently at 1%. Changing those 2 things around and we’re probably around 50%. It’s just insane and I know I shouldn’t dwell on it. But it’s just dumbfounding and it’s hard to explain logically.

Eberflus cowardice shows up on the defensive side as well, there was not an effort to go after Love with more blitzes.  When pressured Love will throw the ball up for grabs, some call it putting the ball where his receivers can make a play, sometimes, but, there's also a good deal of just throwing and hoping for the best.   It's time to fire Eberflus, you gain nothing by keeping him as a lame duck for the remaining games.

I'm certain, given the chance, Caleb would have got them closer and Santos having to LD longer kicks wouldn't have been an issue.

It's also time to draft a kicker with a big leg.

Pretty sure if that kick isn't blocked, Santos still misses it left or right, because the Bears......

Nothing defines the Eberflus era any more than the Bears offense standing there with precious time running off the clock and no one has any clue what they are doing.

Did anyone see the end of the Buffalo game? 4th down and they still just went for it. They didn't stand around waiting on a plan to kick the field goal. They committed to winning that game and they went out and won that game. Eberflus time and again finds ways to put the Bears in the position to lose games, and like magic, he ends up losing games. It's inexcusable.

I'd be interested to know how many times Eberflus might get a coin flip called right. In my mind, he would lose every coin flip, because he he's the most unlucky person I think I've ever seen. It's a comedy at this point. I will admit, I did end up at the edge of my seat at one point during this game, but I was highly skeptical of that kick being good. And I don't care what anyone else says, sitting there watching the clock roll down to :03 with not only a time out in your pocket, but plenty of time on the clock to run more plays to try to get closer and everyone's just standing there with their thumbs up their butts. It's a super bad look.

How do the players keep supporting this guy? The fans sure aren't.

the chargers did the same thing. at the 29 with 20 seconds left, they ran a play and scored a td instead of settling for the field goal

I wonder how many teams have lost games on last second hail maries and blocked FGs in their existence, let alone in the span of 4 weeks. Like how many teams have had both of those happen? I bet it's a short list. I feel like no other team has done it in a single season. This is Mike Brown consecutive pick-6 level of randomness. I can't even imagine what will complete the trifecta, but something is coming.

Bright side guys, Williams had a decent game and it was clear that the coaching is deficient.

They need to start over next year with a new staff. The only issue is that the same guy who picked this one will be picking the next one.

I'm not entirely convinced Eberflus was Poles' choice.

Fire Eberflus into the sun.  I don't know a coach who is better at ripping defeat out of the jaws of victory.

They could do a lot worse than firing Eberflus into the sun and giving the reins to Thomas Brown for the remainder of the season.

I think if Flus gets canned it'll be the special teams coach running the team, which I prefer anyway.  Let Brown focus on Caleb and the offense because based on yesterday, he seems to have a decent idea of how to be at least moderately successful.

I messaged a buddy as they were setting up for the kick "How are they going to break our hearts this time?" and sure enough, there it was.

The cowardice of running the ball up the middle one time with 45 seconds and a timeout left is just inexcusable.  This team will never win anything as long as conservative, unimaginative defensive coaches are running things.  It just doesn't work.
