Ha.  Boston is very hard to judge right now.  Lost a ton from last years historically great team, but still have a lot of really good pieces.  Bedard is fun to watch.  His goal was something, he really looks like all that has been advertised.

They shouldn’t be tired, but my gut says to take the Bruins -1.5. I’m gonna say Hawks take the loss tonight, 4-1 final. With that said, hope I’m wrong! Go Hawks!

Easy call tonight.

The Hall injury hurts. Got the feeling Bedard was leaning on him pretty hard to get acclimated. Even more in the deep end now.

Encouraging to see them sticking around until the end last night, even though the advanced stats (especially with Bedard off the ice) were very ugly. Back to back against two likely playoff teams at their home opener is a tough way to kick it off. Canadiens should be an easier test, but overall a very rough schedule to start the year.

Yeah, they definitely wanted to get the tv time for Bedard to start the year. I'll take some NBC Sports channel games from here on out, please. This is the third straight game I'll have to watch on the DVR. I'm retired. WTF?

The Hall injury looked bad, hope he isn't out long.

Yeah, they called him 'week to week' so it doesn't sound promising.

This has been Hall's career, unfortunately, and it was expected when we traded for him. Just didn't think it would be two games into the season.

I feel this. Several players on my team are good for MAYBE 50 games per year (if you're lucky). Very frustrating

I appreciate what Ovechkin has done in the game, though never personally been a fan, but it really makes you marvel at his durability over his career when you compare it to the average player’s career.

Bad second period really killed the Hawks tonight. Overall an even game, though.

It's an interesting thought - which would you rather have there, 1 goal lead with 6.2 left or a 2 goal lead with 51 seconds left?

I would be shocked if statistics didn't say 1 with 6.2, but emotionally it feels close

I'm assuming this is during a pause in play.  Where is the next faceoff? If its on the other end of the ice probably 1 with 6.2 left.  Otherwise 2 with 51 seconds probably...they would have to score twice and there is an empty net available.

Where on the ice? If it's a faceoff in the offensive zone with 6.2 left, give me that one all day long. If it's in play in the defensive zone with 6x5, then it's tougher

Leafs scored a goal with 6 seconds left to make it theoretically 3-2. I believe the Blackhawks challenged (unless it was automatic) that it was an offsides play, which it was ruled that it was because it was an offsides entry at 51 seconds. So without the review it's 3-2 with a center ice drop, 6 seconds left, after the review it was 3-1 with a neutral zone (Hawks side, right?) drop, 51 seconds left.
