Blackhawks 2023-24 Season - Bedard luck this year

I don’t know what a good goalie prospect looks like but my guess is Soderblom isn’t one. 
 

the hawks are on their way to a good tank win against a fellow cellar dweller in the desert. But Bedard scored. So that’s neat.

In retrospect, I saw the coyotes goals and they weren’t soft at all.

They can’t get out of their own way, let alone their defensive zone. Reichel is being wasted with his garbage line mates. I think he should play with Bedard.

I really tried, but after a few games I found the Blackhawks to be a boring ass team as well.  Watching opposing teams control the puck the entire game isn't very exciting.

Glutton for punishment, but I recorded the Bulls game, then watched it until MNF started. Then watched the remainder of the Bulls game until complete, then tried to stay awake to watch the also recorded Blackhawks game. Woke up somewhere in the 2nd period while the score was 7-1. Wife said "go back to sleep". So I did. Don't think I can watch the rest, but still don't have a clue what the final score was.

Just for funsies because I've been a beer league goalie for a year now so obviously that makes me an expert on NHL goalie techniques 

1) first goal defense was bad but he did take a weird angle going sideways instead of back toward his post 

2) all on the defense.  Five guys guy sucked into one side of the ice 

3) slow reaction and brutal technique, that shot shouldn't go in, an NHL goalie shouldn't have his pad pop up on a slide like that 

4) JFC poor guy, that's when you know it's not your night. Off the top of the net, off his back and in

5) again looked awfully slow reacting and moving on the pass.  Was too deep in his crease and not set when the shot came in. It was a good shot, might have gone in regardless.

6) I think maybe he could have stood his ground and come out a bit.  Choosing to go down deep there protects you from weird bounces but it gives so much net to nhl shooters.  

7) tough rebound to control but I think an NHL goalie can do better than that 

😎 new goalie - no chance, multiple cross crease passes inside 10 feet, the kind of defense you see in the last 10 minutes of a long pickup when everyone is feeling goofy 

 

So in my possibly controversial but expert opinion, the goalie who gave up 7 in two periods had a bit of a bad night

The Blackhawks are the 2011-2014 Cubs right now when we literally sat and watched a sub-par team just to get to Rizzo and Castro's at-bats. Very few guys on this Hawks roster are going to be here or matter in a few short seasons. There's literally nothing to watch except Bedard's shifts.

CB has 2 goals and assist tonight. Korchinski has a goal. It’s 4-2 in 1st vs Tampa

Both Wembanyama and Bedard are going to be everything they were hyped to be.

Also, I want to see Derwood's head explode when the Blackhawks get the first pick again with only a 0.3% chance this year.

5-2 going into 3rd. This team is not good but it’s so much closer than the bears to being competitive
