Close to zero patience for Pittsburgh hitters. Obviously I'm oversimplifying it because Wainwright is a good pitcher, but it seems like the approach should be to not swing at anything that doesn't appear to be above the belt.

That's what it felt like last year: A's, Nationals, Orioles.

2011 was setup for a Disney ending. Hamilton hitting a world series winning homer. Seems like lately baseball hasn't given us the great story.

Wainwright only threw one decent pitch to hit to those last four batters and Alvarez fouled it off. They were extremely lucky that inning to get what they got. Their approach has been awful this game.

I blame Washington's ridiculous handling of Strasburg last year for that more than I blame STL. They were just the lucky bastards that got to play them.

We should start betting against what we want to happen. I think most of us around here were rooting in this manner the last two season in the LDS:

Nationals over Cardinals

A's over Tigers

Orioles over Yankees

 

Braves over Dodgers (although I wanted Dodgers in case the Cardinals won because I think they will be tougher)

Pirates over Cardinals

Rays over Red Sox

A's over Tigers - We'll see

I can't believe the way they make me feel. I don't like when the Cubs/Packers lose big games, but I actually get more angry when the Cardinals win than when my teams lose.
