they have these players hitting FA:

Ellsbury

Napoli

Drew

Saltalamacchia

Uehara

 

i think i'd QO every one of those; Ellsbury and Salty are no-brainers, i think- they'll both seek FA

 

while they don't really have a place for him, Drew should stand to make much more in FA too and probably rejects the QO, and i think they'd like to have both Napoli (3.9 fWAR) & Uehara (3.3 fWAR, 3.8 RA9-WAR) back for 1/14

 

if you're prepared to do that, worst-case is getting 5 extra first-rounders...Jesus

Uehara is signed through 2014 at 5 million, and I think there's a decent chance Salty and/or Drew might accept. I don't think they'd care if Salty accepted though, so yeah, somewhere from 2-4 first rounders

Who the hell scheduled Game 7 on Halloween night?

 

Adults; everyone did their drinking the weekend before.

 

Yeah, sure, I did my drinking.

 

Halloween on Thursday sucks. Every party and/or night out does it the weekend before, but then there are kids costume things all week long, and there will be carryover into the weekend.

 

Anyway, it's a perfectly reasonable night to schedule a potential game 7.

 

 

Its a terrible night for it - either you're out with the kids or you have to keep answering the damn door. Most adults aren't 20-25 without kids btw.
