isn't ssr a celtics fan? that makes his rant even more bizarre.

There are plenty of Bulls and Bears fans who loathe the White Sox and everything they stand for. (As well they should)

And I don't recally John Henry or Larry Lucchino having anything to do with the Celtics.

I do not get the hate at all. Pedroia, Ortiz, Ellsbury, Pedroia, etc. are [expletive] bosses...did I mention Pedroia? Because dude is hilarious. And really [expletive] good at baseball.

I definitely hated Beckett, but he's gone.

it's the fans/city/ownership, not the players

and beckett ruled

i don't know what ruled about him but i'll always hate him for being a part of that 2003 awfulness

what about miggy? doesn't beckett just get hated for exact same reasons people don't like cutler? he had 2 of the best postseasons ever for a starting pitcher and he's the real life kenny powers.

yeah, because they're cub fans. the people who root for the red sox are the exact same people who root for the celtics.

there, at least that one makes sense.

After cruising around doing the schadenfreude thing, I am amused by how many Cards fans seem to despise Pedroia. It's funny to me because of all the players in MLB who aren't on the Cardinals, he is the one I think their fanbase would fawn and swoon over the most if he were one of theirs. Hell, they'd probably have called for a statue of the guy to be built already.

But...I'm not a Red Sox fan.

You're saying oh you're a Celtics fan, these baseball fans are cheering alongside you in basketball, what's the problem?? It's the exact same situation for those people. How you could hate White Sox fans, you cheer alongside them at Bulls and Bears games!!

The "the Red Sox hadn't won a World Series AT HOME since 1918" narrative is extremely nauseating. WTF cares where they are won?

Yeah but when I find out they are actually White Sox fans, I immediately discredit them as human beings.

no kidding, they were really reaching for something interesting about that title win.

if the giants clinch the world series at home sometime, they'll only mention in passing about how it's the 1st time since 1922 they won at home (and 1st time ever in san fran!!!!!!!!!!!!)

That role is reserved for Rocker.

how about this...the Cubs have never clinched a world series in Chicago. Even during their 1907-1908 dynasty, they won it in Detroit and Boston.

Yeah and it really clunked up Buck's call of the last out, how hard would "THE BOSTON RED SOX ARE WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS"

To add insult to injury, Michael Wacha cut his pitching hand after punching an electrical fan in the dugout.

That makes me way too happy.

Yeah, hopefully he cut some artery and is out for the next 10 seasons.

And Cardinals fans wonder why people hate them:

I am beginning to think Stan Musial was up in heaven and was like, "look Cards fans...anyone can win a World Series. Boston had a rough go this year, let's give them something to lift that city up. They need it more than we do. So we will play hard, we will play with dignity. But maybe it will be harder for us. What are we fighting for? Redemption from a national tragedy? The fear of being called self righteous fans? None of that, heck, we are pretty blessed. So maybe just maybe it will be harder for us. Not every flight will be a happy flight. But your players can enjoy the coming years of youthful joy on the field. And in 100 days you can celebrate the game again. That's a nice thing to look forward to. So Cardinals, you dedicated the season to me. That was nice. But better yet, dedicate yourselves to the game, to each other. Celebrate not titles nor wins or rivals. Celebrate the game. Celebrate the great plays and the energy, the colors and smells and sounds. Celebrate the agony as well as the ecstasy. Cause there will always be a World Series, but there is only one Baseball Heaven."

Or something like that. Something Baseball's Perfect Knight would say.

Didn't we beat the Tigers both times?

Yeah, do all that, but cry and whine about some of the games and incite the racists in the fanbase, too.

This is all especially odd since Truffle splits his allegiances between sports teams from Philadelphia and Chicago.

I almost rewound the part where Joe Buck said something about it on the final out but decided I didn't care. What a stupid forced storyline.

He forgot the part to celebrate that Koji cant open his eyes and that they lost with dignity because Ortiz is a gorilla.

That was the main Cardinals fan narrative.
