  1. i think i get what you're alluding to, but felt obligated to point out the math on that is 87 to 112 wins annually which i think we'd all gladly take
  2. it's not a matter of clutch, they just plain suck at that aspect of hitting 20th in MLB in AVG 18th in MLB in SLG so drawing some walks and putting guys on base doesn't amount to all that much because you're just giving LOB opportunities to bad hitters, which is the fundamental complaint team-wise they're good at walking and bad at hitting
  3. having baserunners for baserunners sake is a little bit meaningless; Cubs are t-11th in runs so the blame for that offensive mediocrity falls somewhere Seiya, Bregman, Dansby, Nico are all bottom-30 in WPA i think it's reasonable to criticize the move-the-line philosophy when results are so middling
  4. Mbappé allowed Senegal only about 4 seconds of hope
  5. Lebron's full 5 position eligibility is such a cheat code
  6. Matt Shaw has 1.4 fWAR in 168 GP, currently sitting at replacement level with a statcast nearly covered in blue paint, his role can just as capably be filled with Jorge Mateo types you can find anywhere; i'm trading him for the first offer that presents any actual value if i'm to be honest no real sense in clutching tightly to Skip Schumaker
  7. Catcher add: Shea Langeliers drop: Cal Raleigh Bench add: Sal Stewart drop: Jac Caglianone
  8. new pet peeve is the determination with which Sutcliffe will never learn to pronounce Ballesteros even remotely correct
  9. Cruz probably lost a couple runs defensively in Skenes's first start where he had two of the worst plays in CF in one inning that you'll ever see
  10. Mara & Rez declare for the draft
  11. just a minor note but those other orgs. win playoff series sometimes and have currently top-10 and not bottom-10 farm systems
  12. Rosario's a good analogue too because it's the exact type of prospect the FO has seemingly zero use for, loud tools upside plays are the first ones we dump off whether if it's for an eventual 7-1/3 IP reliever, 8-1/3 IP reliever or simply as a throw-ins of a larger deal i'd still rather have the guy slugging .614 in AA than those seven innings of Eli Morgan, personally
  13. Jacob Webb as your leverage arm/fireman is less than ideal
  14. this guy seems exciting, wonder what his back story is, have to assume he required a steep cost for them to acquire
  15. i feel quite a bit worse about Cabrera now, but conversely much better re Shota:
  16. thanks for killing the vibe dude, i don't need to know we're likely trading this guy for eight point three three innings of Mike Soroka
  17. i'm still living off the hopium high of seeing this comp 2 years ago
