  1. Only time I won't complain about a Cubs double play. 😁
  2. About that time for Taillon to lace up his boots, take his lunch pail out to the mound, and spot the opposing team 4 runs.
  3. Leach has passed away
  4. That's terrible. All the best for him and his family. Given the age of many of these coaches and the nature of their jobs it's a wonder this doesn't happen more often. He’s only 61 apparently. They’re saying he’s brain dead and family is being brought in to say goodbyes. Jeez.
  5. Mike Leach had a massive heart attack today. Airlifted to hospital. They’re saying he coded multiple times on the way. Is currently in ICU. They don’t think he’s gonna make it. Awful.
  6. Freeze is the absolute perfect fit for Auburn. His faux-Christian cheeseball routine fits that fanbase like a glove. I'm sure CubInNY can attest, they are a very cult-like fanbase. The donors will love Freeze hee-hawing it up with them at their pancake prayer breakfasts and the like.
  7. Freeze will be Auburn’s next coach. Perfect fit.
  8. The phrase "too many chiefs and not enough braves" applies to Auburn. Their high end boosters in the good ole' boy network are way too involved in the athletic program. Alabama was that way when Saban showed up and he basically kicked all the good ole boys out of practices and stuff and insulated the program from those types. He still took/takes their money of course, but he basically asked them if they'd rather win or would rather have "access". You see this with the guys from his coaching tree who learned from Saban: Smart at Georgia, Kiffin at Ole Miss, and Sark at Texas all have closed programs at the moment. Access is extremely limited.
  9. Auburn usually wins when they are wanting to fire their coach. I’d take Auburn.
  10. HOLY CRAP.
  11. OUCH Nice loss, TAMU.
  12. or just made the Dodgers buy us 50,000 mega-millions tickets...
  13. They’re gonna pay over slot to sign Ferris. I’m pretty sure he’s got a high number.
  14. Guess that worked out for me. He was an Ole Miss commit that I was desperately hoping would fall far enough to make it to campus but hey, happy to have him be a Cub. He’s a stud.
  15. well you'll be pleasantly surprised to be proven wrong very soon methinks. As I said, I saw this dude in person just a few weeks ago and he was as dominant as I've ever seen a pitcher in my life. 7.1 IP, 13 K, 0 walks, 2 hits against the national title winner. His slider is really freaking sharp and his spin rate metrics are through the roof. Plus he's already had Tommy John. Here are his 13 K's if you wanna see some highlights of him. Lots of good looks at the befuddled faces of the hitters walking away.
  16. OK I saw Horton in person against the Rebels in Omaha in the World Series Final. This dude is a BEAST. He's mean. It was a miracle that Ole Miss got past him in that game.
  17. Berry would help pretty quickly...although not that we're in any position to do anything soon Nevertheless, that dude can mash. .630 slg this year in 200+ AB's with only 22K's. edit: welp, I pushed send about a minute ago and now it gets posted ugh
  18. Guess I’m a grumpy old man but I like when they used to all wear their actual team uniforms. I think that looked cooler.
