  1. Michael Conforto is still unemployed. He’s a hell of a lot better than Heyward or Frazier.
  2. Single page game threads are usually the first official sign that the “no longer give a isht button” has been pushed on a season.
  3. That was laughably smoked by Stanton. Just wow.
  4. They deserve to lose another 14 in a row for that stunt.
  5. We ain't gonna do isht. Well, I disagree. I think we sign a top SS target in free agency this offseason. Not sure which one, but I'm pretty sure we sign one of them and move Hoerner back to 2B (not because he's done a bad job at SS. He actually looks great in my looks and has improved his arm strength). I mean, I hope you're right!
  6. We ain't gonna do isht.
  7. May as well bring PCA up from High A and let him learn on the fly. There’s no way he could be worse.
  8. ya weird. they are at the very end in a quick compilation.
  9. Nootbaar’s hometown fans on Tattoine just went wild
  10. he gets a lot of Javy comparisons, but Javy would have K'd on that second slider in the dirt.
  11. The kid can stay (as if there was any doubt)
  12. Any worms don’t wanna get killed tonight, better dig a little deeper when our 8 and 9 hitters come up
  13. no, we are, you just aren't on thc when you are watching them I guess.
  14. If counting on Nico to not miss games due to injury is part of your plan, you're doing it wrong. just wasn't expecting him to miss time due to a freaking umpire running into him. lol ya i know, but i mean, dude hit .361 in 612 AB's in college, .307 in 635 minor league AB's, and hit .317 in 300+ AB's in MLB before coming to the Cubs.
  15. This is a .500 team if they are able to play as designed in a perfect world. Madrigal is supposed to be a .300 hitter. Nico wasn’t supposed to miss 2 weeks after an umpire ran into him. A healthy Miley gives us 2 or 3 more wins. We might have another win somewhere along the way if Robo umps existed and Suzuki was actually rewarded for having such a good eye. Maybe we have an extra win if Stroman doesn’t get Covid. As designed, this team isn’t bad and it isn’t ugly to watch, but even their absolute peak ceiling still doesn’t make them a playoff team.
  16. It isn't too late. I don't care if the Cubs trade Happ, but they should re-sign Contreras and let him be the bridge to the future. Yadi is 39 years old, and now especially with the DH, there's no reason Willy can't be productive for another 4-5+ years. it’s just rank sentimentality, but I’d like it if a core member of the 2016 squad made it til retirement as a Cub.
  17. 4th place, 10 games back, negative run differential... Nice to get the Brewers a couple times but...
  18. I appreciated JD lowkey throwing shade at Yelich, being like “he was one of the great hitters in the game and then all the sudden in 2018 he wasn’t. Nobody could figure it out” Almost like he was cheating or something
  19. Just when they’re singing Frazier’s praises he gets picked off
  20. True, although I suspect we’d have another two or three wins if Miley had been healthy all year.
  21. Also consider if they didn’t have a 1943 Eastern Front attrition rate. As I posted in another thread, I believe we have 12 of our 2022 projected 25 man roster currently on the IL.
