10 runs without a HR.  Black magic.

I hate the Brewers but wish Ueker was alive to see this

The Brewers are taking away a lot of excuses that owners use to cover for their incompetence.

Have we started to see in these playoffs where maybe teams have finally gone too far with the bullpen usage?  Or is that just me wishing it to be true?

Not if they have 3 elite relievers who have had lots of days off this month for rest.

Replaying the 5th inning now. So the Brewers were 2 outs, 1-2 to Yelich and they scored 8 runs. Puts into perspective what it’s like to be a Cubs supporter.

I wonder how much the Brewers spend on all their operations outside of payroll.

And no HR.  They were 2nd last in the mlb in HR hit, which is wild.

With a young fast team i guess the walk/steal/single-double thing works with the right guys.

I wonder if blowouts are more rare for them compared to a HR team like the Cubs.  I'd like to see stats to as if they're more efficient with run scoring.  Our pythag W/L record was 95-67, and theirs was exactly the same as their real record.  We're so streaky.

I've been seeing a lot of "but but the Brewers can't re-sign their stars" without anyone taking note of the fact that the Brewers are here precisely because they don't re-sign their stars and keep flipping them for other guys that they make stars. If they had those stars instead, they'd probably not have even won the division.

At least we now know the Cubs are not the only team that falls apart at the all mighty Brewers team. Welcome to the "Falls Apart to the Brewers" Club, LAD,, San Diego and Rays.

I question whether they get past SD if the roof was open for that series.

I'll bet quite a bit, can't just go on the cheap everywhere and have the success they've had.  Excellence costs money everywhere.

They were 31-11 in blowouts which was the second most wins with a 152 run differential including a 22-0 and 20-0 win. The cubs went 35-16 with a +155 run differential. It wasn’t at all rare.

The Cubs are 125-68 in blowouts since 2023 which is far and away the highest percentage of wins coming from a blowout at 36%.

It’s the system. Has to be. That’s the only way they can do this. That and give credit where it is due. They identify guys like Bauers, Mitchell, and Vaughn. Guys who are trending down but they get them back on track. Mitchell - a guy who a lot of teams would have probably given up on because he couldn’t stay healthy. Brewers stick with him and he puts together a healthy, solid season. Bauers - I don’t know how but they pick him up after he’s decided to give up and now look.

I think a real good case can be made that the FO is just better at this than other teams. They don’t need the HRs because there’s no warts to hide.

And OF COURSE they are in our division.

I'm happy to not watch a minute of this world series. They can celebrate without me

Padres were ushered to the door last year partly because of a questionable strike 3 call against the Cubs. Then the roof took away a homer against the Brewers. I can imagine their fan base hated both teams. They missed ABS by one year LOL.

Plus they've gotten a sh*t ton of mileage from buying low on struggling former first round picks or former top 100 prospects.  In recent years, Priester and Harrison, seems to be part of their MO, identifying guys with pedigree who have yet to succeed, buy low and turn them around.  Which, as you said, speaks to a really good FO.

it's fascinating that they're able to put up the offensive numbers they do without relying on the 3-run homer, or home runs at all. tied for 28th in MLB in home runs this year, 22nd in 2025. 5th in MLB in stolen bases this year, 2nd in 2025.

very 1980s "whiteyball" type of play.

They've definitely tapped into the frustration factor for pitchers. Pitchers get frustrated when they can't put a hitter away. Do that enough times and you not only push the pitch count up, but you also get in the guy's head. I mean, everyone tries to do that to some degree, but the Brewers are really, really good at it.

Hopefully the BABIP regression stick hits Milwaukee next year as hard as it hit Nico this year (it won’t).

Prediction time. Cardinals will win the 2036 World Series. Pirates 2046. Cubs 2056.

You know it makes sense.

Kind of funny you give the Pirates a WS but just skipped the Reds.
