Yeah - Palencia threw two horsefeathers pitches, soooooo he wouldn’t have let us down with a homer allowed if he would have pitched longer. 
This team has the talent to beat any team, but this pitching staff is straight ass, so my expectations are very low for a playoff birth, and if they make it in, most likely an early exit. This bullpen is just absolutely garbage 🗑️

What about not in 2019. The ball was super huiced that year and everyone hit a ton of home runs.

EDIT: Statmuse says 258 by the 2021 Orioles. The four above them are all from 2019 and a fifth from 2019 is tied with the 2021 Orioles.

Honestly our playoff staff should just be a bunch of people prepared to pitch multiple innings....doesnt matter who the starter is or who comes in after.  5 inning max for Holmes and Gausman, everyone else be prepared to go 3-4 innings

You could probably get away with it in the WC round best of 3, and hope its good enough to hold opponent under 5 runs, but then you need to hope the bats are scoring 4-5 runs, off their top 2 starters and best bullpen arms in a 3 game series

I like your idea, well, kind of.  Our pitching situation is pretty much chaos right now.  I don't even know who should pitch after Holmes (assuming he keeps pitching well for 2? more starts).  Peterson has been actually pretty good, so is Shota (the last 2 starts and basically, the 2nd half of the season).  Gausman has 50/50, or maybe, 55/45 chance he pitches well.  Otherwise, he sucks.  Boyd needs to pitch better.  We can't really trust anybody in the pen, maybe, Civale and Rolison, but they're not high leverage guys, especially Civale.   It's not very good.  Every one of them, including Assad needs to step up.

I'm not counting on Steele at all.

The Phillies and the Padres lost tonight.  Shota and the pen should pitch well tomorrow.

For what it’s worth, Cabrera has a 2.4 ERA this year in the first inning. As a 1 inning guy I’d try him out. In no way should this inspire optimism just to be clear.
