Counsell looks depressed . He doesn’t know what to do anymore

I mean, what else is there that can be done?  The rotation is a jumbled mess of injuries and trash, the offense is inconsistent, and the pen sucks any time the rotation and offense actually do well.

What happened to this killer 90+ changeup this guy is supposed to have ?

Have hitters just started to treat it like a normal fastball

He has zero command of anything. Killer stuff  means nothing if you just throw it up there and pray

Yeah , I know . Only pitchers they have are Brown and Palencia

Since Boyd and his 6.00 ERA will be back imminently, one of these guys will likely be demoted from the starting rotation...

Imanaga - 4.74 ERA

Taillon - 5.13 ERA

Rea - 5.49 ERA

Cabrera - 4.99 ERA

Brown - 1.92 ERA

It's probably going to be Rea because he has more long relief experience right?  What a disaster

Brown game 1, Rea game 2, Assad game 3, bullpen game/elimination game 4 if I were to construct a playoff rotation for the cubs.

The way this team is trending that won’t be necessary. And even if we do make the playoffs, we’re certainly not getting a bye so no need to plan for a Game 4 yet.

I wish all of them was an option.

it's mind blowing when you compare theo's rebuild to jed's

Jed's was a retool don't forget.  A retool that lasted longer than Theo's gut rebuild and led to 1 playoff appearance and 4 playoff wins vs 5 playoff appearances, 19 playoff wins and a WS title.

Oh I know. They won’t even get to a game 3 in a wild card round.

Continuing that thought, maybe DFA of Taillon or Shota is an option since they're both in the final year of their contracts and likely don't offer any relief value.

Idk how you don’t see this roster and immediately fire Hoyer. This is by far the worst team in MLB. Even watching like Rockies etc, they look worlds beyond what this team is. The talent disparity is terrifying.

Theo identifies Arrieta as a buy-low potential ace, Jed identifies Cabrera. Apple falls far from the tree and all that

Probably a dumb take but I'm beyond pissed at this point

Not that I have much confidence in him with this but if there is any kind of offseason with player movements,  Cubs will have a decent opportunity to really change their roster up pretty big if they choose to.

4 guys tied to contracts in Swanson Bregman PCA and Maton for a total of 97 mil.

Not saying he is or should get 20 new players, just saying that if there ever will be an opportunity for him to change up the look of this roster even a little bit, this offseason could be his best opportunity to do it.

Horton and at the time Cabrera aside, I had little confidence in this rotation coming into the season. Was just hoping that Steele could return in time and be affective enough to help Horton and Cabrera.

Boy did things go sour once the season started

This cabrera fella really sucks. A top 50 prospect blown on this

The funny thing is that it was obvious Cabrera sucked before they even acquired him, his career numbers were on par with a guy like Javier Assad and taking this season into account, he should probably be joining Assad in Iowa.
